I believe there was 3 different types. I have a 1992 built before 6th month of 92 and I changed my top frame to a 93 because it (92.5-93) retracts even lower into the well. Almost flilush with the body line. The headliner was a customer option commonly purchased in colder weather climates.

I have a 1988 but my top doesn’t have that strap with the metal. It’s a smooth top

I have a 89 frame on my 93 mustang with a 93 canvas didn’t fit any different but I know for a fact that the tension cables and spring on the older top sit in a much higher spot than the newer frame

The infamous project did a video on this… he put a 93 frame on his 87 stocker vert… the frame does sit lower… I’m pretty sure he said that it has something to do with the back window

Do you know why my rear window would have shattered randomly when opening the top? Could it have been misaligned or something? It seemed to get pinched on the rear seat molding

Hay my friend has a 90 fox body, he recently bought an 86 convertible frame and it’s not closing right, any ideas what could be causing the issue? He said that the pin holes to lock it doesn’t align properly and there are slight gaps around the rear windows
