Power by the hour control pack? Or is this the ford motorsports control pack?

What stock foxbody harness has to be left? Just the body harness ? Can the entire original ecu harness and engine harness be removed and the control pack wiring be used to provide feed to the fuel pump etc?
@inFecTed.Gaming5 жыл бұрын
I removed the engine harness from the 302 from my foxbody for the swap. How do you connect the control pack to the wires for the fuel pump, the old engine harness had the relays. Do i have to install new relays? Then what wires to connect the relays to on the control pack? Thank you!
@pcpalan5 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late response, depends on what year your car is. mine had a fuel pump relay underneath the sea so I just tapped into the thick pink wire from the control pack to that. That will allow the fuel pump to come on when the control pack ask it to.

Any chance you can make a video showing how your battery, factory accessories/ cabin harness, and coyote harness all intertwined and connected? Did you use the factory style solenoid still? I assume I can connect every body harness including the foxbody ignition wire to a junction box directly to the coyote alternator. I really cant find a video online . Would greatly appreciate it or even a crude drawling lol. Thank you

Would love to see that too. @vaporfox let me know what you ended up doing with yours.

@@Barcelonausa01 Currently just finished my tube front swap and factory dash wiring harness trim down so not ready for that yet, I dug into my build more than planned lol . Its pretty easy though. Follow PBH guides and the control pack. Basically you use your old solenoid as a junction point. You do not even need to use it if you choose not to. As long as your factory fox dash harness gets power everything else works the same way. The solenoid acts more as a safety between the control pack and the fox wiring. I'm pretty sure he has a video about it. It isn't in depth but you will understand once you see it.

@@4eyefox awesome! Thanks for the quick response! I’m still working on getting all the parts in before I begin. Waiting on kmember and headers to be delivered. Still need to decide on a clutch kit and control pack.

good info. helped me out with my issues on how to wire it to fox harness. now when i do my swap i wont get hung up on it. how did you wire the starter and headlights?
@pcpalan6 жыл бұрын
Rafael Corral the headlights still work the same way all I did was put a bolt with a nut on all of the connections on the inner fender driver side and then I ran like a foot long wire to the coyote alternator and then I ran a 4 gauge wire from the alternator to the starter and then from the starter to the fuse box on the control pack keep in mind this is an S550 control pack so it's a little different than the s197

strokercoupe alright sweet. I am going to use all 15 n up stuff for my 89 coupe. Only going to run Alt n PS. Don't need AC lol. Just the wiring to car harness is the only part I need help with.

Quite sure most everyone, but your two friends, knows the Magnum is a stronger / better trans than a t56 from a 03/04 Cobra!
@pcpalan5 жыл бұрын
I've just had a horrible experience with American powertrain. And so has everyone I know. 3 tko600s and 2 t56 Magnums. I prefer to stick with a good oem trans now.

Did you end up keeping your fuel pump wired this way? I need to wire mine up and want to make sure it worked out fine that way.

Question for you. I have an 86 lx 4 cylinder that I plan to convert. Did you remove the factory 4cylinder ECU? I'm tracing wires now but I'm hoping I can ditch that entire engine bay harness. I wasn't sure if you need any of it for the coyote swap thanks
@4eyefox6 жыл бұрын
On top of that my 4cylinder is carburated which I didn't even think had an ECU

strokercoupe good thing I haven’t sold my dash lol. I’m in the process of doing the swap as well. I’m at a standstill because I’m using the donor motors computer and trying to figure out how the control pack wiring was. And if all 3 ports for the manual tranny are used. I saw your email on another video, I’ll be shooting you a message soon. Need a bit of help brother.

How did you mount the clutch safety switch to the stock pedals?
@pcpalan5 жыл бұрын
I didn't. No one drives the car but me, and it's always been a habit to hit the clutch when i start it. I used the 2 wired for a kill switch tho. Cuts off any way of starting the car unless the switch is on

What about the main power 12 v ? the thick wire that feeds the harness ?
@pcpalan5 жыл бұрын
I ran it from the trunk to the big maxi fuse and then from that point to the starter and alternator after the maxi fuse I ran it to the control pack

Another quick question my men ! I do remember you said that the 3 wires ( vss gnd vss signal in vss signal out ) DONT needed to be connected to run the engine properly?
@pcpalan5 жыл бұрын
@@ford351user just depends which control pack you are using, I've seen some of the newer ones that require a vehicle speed sensor to be hooked up for some reason I guess it tells the computer that the car is actually moving and prevents it from shutting off. Don't quote me on any of this
