Entitlement... Example.. HE is entitled to decide who works for him because HE built the company.. HE does Not have to change his policy so your feelings don't get hurt.. and if that hurts your feelings.. shut up and go start your own thing.. don't try to change his.

"You know, the irony of this test is it's not even so much about the answers, it's about how people formulate the answers and how they stand by that. @Avicenna - Actually, Kyle misused "irony" when he made that comment. Definition of irony; "the expression of one's meaning by using language that normally signifies the opposite, typically for humorous or emphatic effect"; "a state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is often amusing as a result." So, rather than saying "irony", Kyle should have said the "purpose" of the tests is not even so much the answers. Kyle also contradicts himself, as in the begging of the video he makes mention of "you young activists" in a way that was speak down of young activists and making fun of them. Then he says of the questions..."it's about how people formulate the answers and how they stand by that". So, he wants someone who has the conviction to "stand by that" or stand for something. I guess it is only okay if they stand for the same things he does.
@isodoublet
@isodoublet 7 жыл бұрын
@SoloLysander yep. And then that he has to disguise his ideological test in this kind of "it's not about the answers" language shows that he doesn't actually have the conviction to stand behind what he believes in without subterfuge. Now *that*'s irony, wouldn'tcha say?

I am 54 years old, so not from the younger, so-called ''entitled'' generation, and I have a list of questions that I take with me to interviews, that my potential employer must please answer. I'm tired of an interview being a one way street, you interview me, and I interview you, and we can both assess each other. Not surprisingly, interviewers are a bit shirty over answering a list of my questions - none of which are unreasonable or cheeky, by the way.

*Mi nk* if you despise human beings so much, have you considered automation, or changing your business model so you can treat your employees fairly? It sounds like you started with insufficient capital, or made a poor choice in business. Remember that most startups _by far_ need to fail in order to keep wealth more adequately distributed, since our current fiscal state prefers natural wealth redistribution than state policies. (Otherwise capitalist markets end like Monopoly, where few people owning everything and no-one liking anyone very much.) So your company will do society a greater service if it goes under than if it becomes profitable. And if you think it's appropriate to underpay and disregard your employees, maybe that's for the best.

Nationalism is a supremacy. The belief that your country is great and the best is not a good look. It's a racist point of view and research has shown that it is the result of low IQ. We can't blame those with low IQ that are easily brainwashed by government and other forms of authority, but we can help them learn that nationalism is not okay.

The fact that only Fox News thinks this is a laudable achievement speaks volumes about this guy and his business. This CEO has already shown his stupidity by publicly acknowledging a bias against people who don't necessarily think of themselves as "Americans" first and foremost... Let's be honest, he's looking for hard-core "patriotic" conservatives -- liberals need not apply. I say "stupid" because by publicly acknowledging his bias, he has hurt his business, because any potential clients who see this and feel like they're on the wrong end of his litmus test will treat him the same way and hire his competition. So, years from now, all he will have are like-minded staff and like-minded clients... a recipe for a non-discrimination lawsuit if ever I heard one. Then the final nail will be when his client list is made public and there is some connection with a known hate group or other criminals, which he will be unable to dismiss as random if all of his clients share the same "mindset".

A word, their parents have failed them, the schools have failed them, higher education has failed them, and now society has failed them. Listen, my niece is 23and her parents saved money from the time they knew she was on her way, so, stop crying about having to pay for your own education, take it up with your parents who clearly failed you, not societys fault. Snowflakes , listen, get a job, pay for a collage education in a state school, its much more affordable, and, furthermore, my niece is working for a collage that paid for her masters degree! Her parents only had to pay $350.00 for books, so, see, there are ways to pay for collage, just explore avenues available to you, not just looking for others to pay your way! I kinda like this approach. After starting my own business (from nothing) I too know that the work ethic is often more valuable than many so-called "skills". Getting ahead is about attitude. My answers to the test presented. 1) What does America mean for you? Order then freedom. 2) What does the word privilege mean to you? A token right not protected by law. Something someone expects because they are whiny. 3) When was the last time you cried and why? I assume onions and comedians don't count so that scene from WALL-E where he dies. It was sad. 4) How do you feel about the police? They enforce order and are underappreciated because people envy their power. 5) How do you feel about guns? I don't like them personally. Just the one question. The one answer you're looking for is this: "The most important thing is how I can help my employer make a profit." That's it. Only one in every 500 applicants will give you this answer. I don't care if the person is a purple-spotted lesbian snowflake who walks with a limp. Doesn't matter. The main reasons he cites in the first 1 min have nothing to do with political leaning or perspective, it was all about basic competencies. Then he somehow transitions to "Americans"... as if the same idiots he just talked about not wanting to hire, have not been fostered and brought up *in* American schools, and we should be questioning not their values, but why the schools failed to teach them basic things like civics. Then the interview transitions to yet another sub-plot : loyalty, and then some ridiculous 'mindset' as he calls it, that is basically about work ethic. Then in conclusion, there aren't any 'right or wrong' answers, and you have to stand by your position, especially on your view of the police and guns (as if this matters in a workplace? Police = good, robbers = bad; guns = seriously dangerous and often useful). This is pure agit-prop, Fox nonsense; the red meat it's zonked out viewers lap up like milk. He concludes: "I'm going up against people who have a sense of entitlement and won't hustle" - which is some sort of hiring dog whistle for liberals? As if ONLY liberals don't have hustle and a sense of gratitude? C'mon anyone who has hustle and respects hard work is someone ANY CEO should hire regardless of political stripe. In short the logic here is just plain missing and this is a pure puff piece that ends up being right wing drivel.

Like he said at the beginning, the answers don't matter as much as the way they're formulated & presented. 2. As to the nature of the questions, he implies that a lot of his client base is strongly patriotic, probably conservative in nature. Therefore, it would make sense to hire people who feel strongly about patriotism and who are conservative in nature. No use hiring a liberal whose values would clash with most of his clients. Imagine sending over someone who thinks the armed forces are brutal killers to a client composed of mostly veterans. That wouldn't go over well.

The inability to question authority, the government, and national supremacy are all evidence of low IQ. My attempts at making a painting out of love-juice would make Roy Moore blush, but I did it on an easel rather than a 13-year-old girl so I don't think he would approve. Taxtro what was he entitled? More money and respect than those years ahead of him? lol I commended him on his actions to do something which he did. I was referring to those who whine and complain of unfairness and don't fix it. But again, what is a young 20-something entitled to? You have to earn money and respect. Liberals just think everyone caters to them just because they're alive and cry bloody murder when they get a dose of reality. Safe spaces, political correctness and free hand outs paid for by hard working people. I find it amusing when they get a dose of reality that things aren't just given to them and they have to actually earn it. I'm not sure what you're thinking or what you believe, but I am interpreting your choice of words and your confusion as a sign that you're a snowflake.

The term ‘snowflake’ is a sentiment that I do largly agree with in that there are too many people ‘triggered’ by opposing views.... However the irony of the people who throw this term around is hilarious. Right wing, middle aged, conservative Christians who do not want to deviate from current social norms and are offended by any suggestion that there may be a better alternative. That are offended by any notion that life may be a little tougher for other demographics and that it might be a nice thing to level the playing field a little. .... I’m sorry but getting offended by the sugestion of being a little nicer to each other to the point of making slurs such as ‘snowflake’ and ‘libtard’ is far more deserving of the.Looking forward to all the right wing snowflakes proving me correct 😁

I thought this test would be a way to weed-out snowflakes (some that could be quite useful) but, instead, it turned out to be a test to weed-out opposite political views (someting that is quite disgusting). This CEO is bound to find out, the hard way, sooner or later, how damaging to a business it is to not recruit critical, intelligent and engaged candidates just because they might think differently from him.

You have no clue how he looks at the questions answers. There can be people with differing political opinions who also possess a strong work ethic, and that comes off in the answers too. I think it’s a great idea, and you can’t assume you know exactly what answers he’s saying no to, he even says “it’s less about the answer and more about how they formulate their answer”

People become more productive when they have vacations. No need to grind yourself through work when you produce a lower percentage of work for each hour spent at work. I don't want to waste my life working my life away for some smuck like that that makes me "earn" my vacation on his terms - for all we know he could think that for every year you work you've "earned" 1 day of vacation. I like the Danish system better - the economic productivity is about the same as in the US, but they work 5 hours less/week than Americans and have a legal right to 4 weeks and paid vacation each year. 12.5% of your pay (is added on top of your regular pay) goes to paying for your vacation. That money is paid out when you take your vacation. So if I make $20/hour then I get paid $2.5 into my vacation time or a total of $22.5/hour. In that way Danes truely work for their vacations and aren't at the mercy of their boss to say when they can take a day off or not.

I thought he did a decent job of trying to avoid political affiliation, at least in this interview, when the reporter really wanted to talk about it. I think that any self-entitled person, regardless of political affiliation, won’t get a job there. It just so happens that the majority, or at least the VOCAL majority, of leftists have a sense of entitlement. That doesn’t mean they’re all like that, or even that MOST of them are like that.
@leongkinwai9709

Mess8424 it's at least explicitly worded to avoid political bias, but a lot of the questions still overlap with very political implications (policing and how it should be carried out and questioning how much of what one earns is entirely their effort and not in part due to the circumstances they're in), or at least they are in the United States. The exception is the one about crying, I think. The rest still carry a heavy political connotation in the States afaik.
@messy8424

Leong Kin Wai I realize that, and while a couple questions are a bit questionable, if he truly does “grade” based on quality of answer/argument rather than their specific answer, then it’s not a problem. Like he said, a lot of his clients are very patriotic. Someone who is at odds with police officers or military would not be suited there, because this company needs to make money. And those people exist on both sides.

I personally have never had a problem finding and keeping work; never been accused of being a snowflake. But you would not find me working for this man. 1) He must be in a niche that allows him to be this choosy. If there were a shortage of workers, as there are in some markets, sometimes you have to hire those you may not align with. Things could be reversed, and if there was a shortage of jobs, working for this man may be someone's only option. He seems blind to the fact that he is not in control of the labor market. 2) His tactics border on a form of manipulation that you find with those offering those free seminars on how to get rich. In exchange for accepting whatever demeaning, low wage work that he is offering, he gives you a pat on the back, encouraging you that you are such a good non-entitled person for coming and working for him. Truly humble, patriotic, and American. Work for him if you need work. Don't work for him just to prove to someone that you have noble character traits.
