Paying $1M to be on top of the hill and is not worth the tradeoff for a horrible kitchen/dining design. You want a kitchen that opens up into a large dining and living area. That is a $400k home just a few years ago. No Way!

To the contrary. DC is deplorable. Public schools are deplorable. They know themselves, what they like, are high energy self-starters, striving to become self-sufficient, and are raising a big beautiful family. They’re exactly NOT getting “away from themselves” but back to themselves. They’ll probably be very successful building their wonderful new world and make the best family memories people like you could only envy.
