My daughter who is a police officer and who was on the riot squad during the 2020 peaceful protests who dealt with the city having fires started, businesses broken into and violence against persons & police officers is still a police officer but now moved from the city to a smaller country force who has a completely different attitude towards their officers. But knows at least 50 officers who have quit, 15 who are on total disability and many many more who are one incident over the line from leaving this profession…

I am currently working on becoming an LEO in my community. I asked a local officer if he had any advice. His advice: “Don’t become a cop.” He said the politics are out of control and are hampering the job at all levels. I believe this is just a phase as it is clearly unsustainable on its current track. We will always need police on our streets. Policies are constantly evolving and that is not a bad thing but we need to face reality at this point. If you feel a calling to protect your community don’t be discouraged by the media or even jaded officers. Someone needs to do the job. Step up if you feel you can.

Police Officers get paid to chase and arrest criminals. Also when you stop and think about it, All traffic stops and ALL checkpoints are a VIOLATION of The Constitution. You have The Right to travel freely on State and City Highways and Streets without being in molested by Government Officials unless you've committed a crime. Havin a burnt out brake light is NOT a crime, driving around with expired car tags is not a crime, tinted windows is not a crime, making an illegal U-turn when it is safe, is not a crime, speeding up to 15 mph above the posted speed limit is not a crime. You don't go to jail/prison for any of these mentioned. Police Officers have lost the respect and trust of The People, but police have brought this dis-like upon themselves by the way they treat The People. Many Police Officers are under a false illusion, they think once they put on a badge they think the whole world bows down to them. No, A police officer is a Public Servant, that means they work for The People. Remember, A Police Officer has NO power or authority over you till you commit a crime. Another thing: There are police officers who will detain you or possibly arrest you for carrying a live loaded firearms ( regardless of it's size) This is a VIOLATION of The Constitution ! You have The Right to carry firearms, The Government has NO say so in this area. NO you do NOT need to ask The Government for permission to carry firearms. You do NOT need a firearms permit or a firearms license, or even a background check. It is your Constitutional Right ! When police get away from Traffic Stops completely, and stop VIOLATING Your Constitutional Rights, Do your job correctly, Then The People will began to respect and honor police officers again. Unless then, YES, DEFUND THE POLICE ! We have way too many police officers on payroll. Most of them are a total waste of tax paying dollars !
