HILARIOUS! First Time Emptying a Cassette Toilet - Ep. 76

In this HILARIOUS video, Colin empties our narrowboat Thetford cassette toilet at a canal side Elsan point for the first time with stomach-churning results! Emptying a cassette toilet is pretty simple, but kind of gross too!
It's the same principle for caravan toilets, motorhome and RV toilets too, but we use our Thetford Cassette Toilet on our narrowboat. Check out loads of narrowboat toilet tips too.

😂😂😂😂 Well done! I worked in the NHS for 30 yrs and the only way I coped with bedpans and poo was.....by not having any sense of smell.....otherwise my career would’ve been a lot shorter!! 😂😂😂

I don't envy you boaters with cassettes (or pump outs). Best decision I made was to remove the existing pump out loo and make my own "dry" compost type loo. I use the ash from my fire which suppresses all odours and helps break down the solids. The liquids is separated and stored in 5L containers for disposal in the bush away from the canal. I've only ever visited an elsan point once and that was enough. With the compost loo, I use no chemicals, there's no smell and little fuss.

I always got that job when we had a caravan. Tip, if you have a flush tank, put cheap fabric conditioner in, it stops the smell every time you flush

the year 2023... how is there not a more civilised way of doing this?... I had it in my head that the Cassette would go into something and suck it out and wash it then when you take it out it would be nice and clean!...I'm not squeamish but this belongs in the stoneage! 🤮
