Wonderful vlog, guys. Has to be among your 'greatest hits'. Adrian Shine: what a fascinating man. Was so absorbed while he was talking I kept forgetting I wasn't watching a mainstream documentary; almost surprised when the camera returned to you, Colin! As an aside: I did think of Loch Lomond first. The musical piece referencing the lake was the first piece I played for my step-Dad, a proud Scot, on the violin. It was probably awful but I'll never forget the pride and pleasure on his face when I'd finished. I was 7 or 8. We'd visited the area about a year prior.

In the late seventies and early 80s, I spent many many weeks in the summer holidays as a member of the Loch Ness and Morar investigation project. We were taking underwater silt samples from over 1000 foot deep, I was setting up under water lighting and sonar and camera equipment etc etc. I spent many a night at camp fires with Adrian and many other people like him who were experts in many different fields, for a 15 and 16 year old is was a great way of spending the school holidays! PS The mooring you had your boat at Urquhart harbour was the same harbour and jetty where John Cobb was based during his water speed records!
