As usual Chilly is spot on, it is all about confidence. Whatever rig or bait you choose, if you are confident in it and it works for you then that is all that really matters.

not to over complicate things but. would like to know what booms suit what type of lake bed better. Is a stiff boom better on a gravel and a soft boom on silt ?

Question for the great man ? I’ve recently started fishing again after a 40+ years break What is it with mainlines being 20lb + in breaking strain ? Is it just to get the lead out there ? Or because of the unbelievable average weight of todays modern carp ?
@fox_international2 жыл бұрын
The reason is for strength, nobody wants to loose a fish and leave them with tackle attached, so the stronger you fish the less chance there is of breakages happening. Strong breaking strain line avoid crack offs when casting and have tougher resistance to abrasion caused by weed and snags.

@@fox_international thanks for reply In my day 10lb breaking strain was the norm Where I’ve resumed fishing there’s a mono only rule so no nice soft braids & a max hook size of 12 !!

@@andym5900 probably 1 1/2lb tc rods were also the norm back then, everything is much stronger now. There are many different rules on venues. As you move to other venues you’ll find they change. Great to hear you are back fishing 🎣

@@andym5900: Blimey , what are fishing for……Crucian carp. Nobody uses hooks that small these days. Each to his own but I never use smaller than Size 4 …..last year I had fish from 38lb 1oz down to 10lb. You don’t lose fish using big hooks !!!!!

Great video by the legend himself we all get in the trap of overcomplicating things like rigs etc... but the simplicity of things are sometimes the hardest things to achieve

Thinking of using the 30lb illusion as a leader of around 4ft any tips on straightening it out ?
@fox_international2 жыл бұрын
you can do the same as Chilly does, heating it up under tension. It works!

Why are fox bedchairs so expensive. Any chance of a free one from a cheeky chappie?
