Whitney the world hasn't gotten over you and most likely never will. They are still trying to understand how you came and stole our hearts and left to swiftly and tragically. So many documentaries, movies, books have been written and they are still coming. 30 years from now the world will still be talking about Whitney Houston. The greatest singer known to exist

David Roberts didn’t inspire the bodyguard story. This film was written in 1976 . The roles were intended for Diana Ross and Steve McQueen. Long before Whitney became famous.

it's so sad that whitney isn't alive to tell her own life story and I don't believe anything that Robyn said about her why didn't she say something when whitney was alive or when she married Bobby brown and it's so unfortunate she's not alive to defend herself and people are living off her fortune and fame R.I.P Whitney love always your fan to end

I'm with you about people still lining their pockets off her name & fortune. But as you are certainly entitled to your opinion, and it is respected, I have to disagree with you about Robyn. The woman does not have to lie or make up anything in her memoir about her & Whitney! There are too many detailed things & names mentioned in her book for it not to be real & true. I'm sure there are people in Whitney's family who have read the book.....just out of curiosity of what Robyn was sharing. Well, I listened to the entire memoir on Audible and it was absolutely a very good book/memoir of Robyn's young life as a child, her parents, siblings, & family life, Whitney's life as a child at home in a drama filled home, with her brothers & parents, Whitney's career from start to finish and everything that happened in between, and of course, Robyn losing her mom, brother, & Whitney. She also shares her life after Whitney, with her current wife & children. She really honored & represented Whitney in her book, while also clarifying the many despicable negative comments & image that Whitney's family & others tried to portray Robyn to be. Nobody could accept that Robyn was a confidant in Whitney's life....she is the one true friend that Whitney trusted & who had Whitney's best interest at heart.....and proved that over the course of 22yrs. Robyn had to stand up for herself & lift Whitney up....she felt obligated & compelled to protect her legacy, & name because after she died there were just way too many lies, accusations, & assumptions about poor Whitney that she could not defend. And Robyn also had the right to be honest & share in her memoir the truth about the beginning of her & Whitney's life together. Because it wasn't just Whitney's....it was also Robyn's life as well. Whitney could not be herself & do what she wanted to do for her own happiness because of her mother's spiritual roots, the denial of her record company, and the fear of rejection & ruin of her $ making career. When she came on the scene, homosexuality was not accepted the way it is now. But it has been in this world for ages....and amongst many other celebs who secretly hid it to protect themselves from scandal. Whitney didn't keep that to herself because of shame or denying Robyn.....she refused to admit to the tabloids & interviews because she needed to protect her career & her name. And people wonder how & why she suffered the way she did? Please......it was far more to it than "Bobby Brown!" I understand the drug use. I hate it....but I understand.

Have you even read Robyn's book? She only had positive things to say about her friend. Whitneys family was lying on her, defaming her character because they didn't like Whitney. Robyn had the right to tell story. You don't know Whitney, so how can you say whether Robyn is lying or not

The drug use was already there. Robin admits it in her book. That whitney loved getting high even as a teen. Her uncle also admits giving her a line of coke and a bag of weed at 16 for her birthday in the documentary whitney. Cissy says Robin approached her in the late 80s about it getting out of hand in her book remembering whitney. By the time the fame and pressure and the mess that was bobby brown came along the woman already had long standing issues. I dont think she could have been saved like that bodyguard says. Sometimes its just too hard and too late, you dont just get up and quit a habit you've had for 30 years. Especially if you enjoy it. Not unless she had just left showbusiness entirely and truly regrouped the way she had briefly done before greedy Clive called her back like an ATM.

@Taylor Why don't you see it this way: No one cares about or loves white celebrities who die from drugs, including white/black Michael Jackson. We talk about Whitney Houston's tragic life and death because we love her that much. We speak out of love about her and the fact she could not be with Robyn in that time period of America. It's a different world today. Maybe the music industry and more Christians now could accept such a thing.

@@taylor5973 I'm okay with talking about Whitney as long as she is not being judged. Drug addiction is a disease, and she suffered from it, and she did not take all the steps to fight it. She was alone. It is very, very hard to overcome this. But, unfortunately, I'm sure you would agree, Whitney Houston is judged for the life she had (NOT led).

@@taylor5973 Elvis wasn't that important! It didn't have a unique voice. The media used this to make money. Whitney "sells"! And they profit from the curiosity of many people because of their impactful life. But it has nothing to do with color.

People and the media harp on Whitney's lesbian relationship and how it wasn't accepted in the 80s and 90s but these people obviously didn't read Robyn's book. Whitney had this relationship with Robin for about 2 years starting when she was 16. After that Whitney put her in the friend zone. She didn't even have a hidden physical relationship with Robyn after that which she certainly could have had if she wanted to. The media is. Very deceptive implying they had a long term sexual relationship. Also, it's strange her bodyguard inspired the movie because they never had a sexual relationship. Whitney was not racist but she was afrocentric and just wouldn't entertain an interracial relationship.

@mhayahkhoramey1305 You either didn't read Robyn's book and going off what you believe or heard or you're calling her a liar. Also, how is claiming a 2 year relationship with Whitney rather than a 20 year relationship with her, 'protecting' Whitney? 🤔
@mhayahkhoramey1305

@@stacistaci6657that 2 year relationship was when they were teens and just after whitney signed her contract. It’s literally out there you can do some research. Maybe start with Peter Tatchell, a British activist that met Whitney and Robyn in 1991 and Vernal Scott also you can watch her documentaries Every single one of the people in those documentaries met nip and rob after 1982. I’m not calling Robyn a liar but I know with a love of that magnitude she’s still protecting Whitney by downplaying their relationship. Why would her father try to break Robyn’s leg in 1996 if Whitney and Robyn had broken up in 82. Either ways when it comes to Whitney it’s a bit tricky because she denied the rumours and some fans are still in denial when the truth is staring them right in the face. Why would Robyn and Whitney live in 3 different houses together for over 10 years And oh you can listen to her last album that’s literally an apology to Robyn “Worth it” talks about “this is for the lovers about 20 years deep” everyone knows they spent 20 years together. Also a song for you; Robyn introduced Whitney to that song Like I never left, I got you. I could go on and on about how everything has been right in our faces. Fromm their matching rings to earrings to Whitney’s lesbian earrings.

@@mhayahkhoramey1305 Their physical relationship started before Whit signed her contract. It was after she signed that she put the breaks on and told Robyn why. Whit didn’t write that song. Yes, Robyn spoke about A Song For You. I’ll check out those people you mentioned this weekend when I have more time. John and Cissy did not like Robyn. They didn’t like how close they were or the rumors or even Robyn trying to look out for Whit. Robyns book told a lot. A part of me wishes she hadn’t wrote the book because she knows Whit NEVER wanted that to come out but Robyn doesn’t have a degree or skill set to fall back on and the book wouldn’t have sold otherwise.

The media really make their own narratives how was Robyn and Whitney long time lover when Whitney ended it after 2 years and put her in the friend zone. But she was with Bobby for over 15 years that’s Whitney’s lover the only one she claimed as the love of her life so sad they still won’t accept what Whitney said even in her death.
