By the time Whitney Elizabeth Houston was 15, she was singing background vocals for Chaka Khan, Lou Rawls, and Jermaine Jackson. In 1983 Whitney signed a worldwide recording contract with Clive Davis's Arista Records. However her success came with its fair share of drug use, love affairs, and scandals.

gonna take someone Whitney's age to tell me about Whitney . We grew up as each hit charted , we went to her wedding, watched her devour Bodyguard , saw her dance into the millennium, and face her demons head on & we also said good bye to our Whitney . We respect Whitney & want her to finally rest in peace .

If she faced her demons, she might be alive today. I am sure her addiction was no easy task to overcome. But every newspaper report showed Miss Houston in denial; the embarrassing interview with Diane Sawyer showed arrogance and refusal to acknowledge her problem. Another time, her mother intervened; Miss Houston went into rehab for 24 hours! She was very stubborn about her situation. It resulted in her death.

@@michellekirkendall818 That's a bit harsh Michelle...you rightly pointed out that Whitney spent time in rehab...she knew she had a problem & tried to address this situation. It was heartbreaking to see her mother have her committed before Whitney passed. I know many have come thru the hell of addiction but not all. Sadly, Whitney finally lost her life because of this addiction. She paid the ultimate price. She was also the finest female vocalist ever. May she rest in peace 🙏⚘🕊

@@clairelivefreeordie2551 Only one day. And that was due to her mother's intervention. She never acknowledged her problem. I am quite sure it's hard for people to kick addiction. However, when it was pointed out (Diane Sawyer interview) weight loss to the point of becoming a skeleton, she continued to deny it. Somebody or something wasn't harsh enough; it appears someone need to MURDER her addiction! Remember, it eventually kills you. That is what happened! A young woman, dead at only 48 years old is sad. Her angelic voice had been lost for so many years. Someone should have literally, KIDNAPPED her to get help, don't let her out! Too late. And the ultimate tragedy;.the loss of her only child.

Whitney Houston’s life was far from easy and was filled with tragedy, including a long struggle with addiction and grappling with the downsides of fame and being in the public eye. She lived through immense suffering, heartbreak, and personal issues and also fought roadblocks in her career, according to, one of the most nefarious psychological consequences of extreme fame is the isolation it brings. Being recognized and adored by strangers everywhere you go causes such individuals to experience loneliness and isolation. There are also pressures that famous individuals such as Whitney may face which can be the perfect storm for addictive and mental health issues: unlimited money and access to drugs, lack of privacy, constant scrutiny by the media, and a lack of social support.

No offense, appreciate, all you, said, but we were lied to about how , she allegedly, died. All cover up, so many celebrities, leave this earth,. Then just because they've done, drugs, it's a good alla bye, when something else , happens to them. Look at Leolah Brown, Bobby Brown videos, if you care to know the truth. I'm not going to say anymore, I hate what they, really did to her. After achieving all she achieved and gave to her public. Bobby sister said the day she died, there was no drugs, in her body. On top of that she didn't die. I believe her more than the media, she really loved her and Bobby Kris, and after the funeral, she said she wasn't going to rest , until she knew the truth. That's why she had closed, casket. Forgive, me, but she was and still is my favorite. Singer, she was beautiful, multi talented, and really did love , God. If she hadn't of entered into, that world, she may have still been here. Those people are lonely sometimes, she liked being alone, she said , now you see why. Couldn't trust hardly anyone, grinning and smiling. Especially women, they hate on each other to much. RIP Whitney, job well, done, only one fighting for you is Leolah Brown. Whitney was the BOMB.
@Rydal19140
@Rydal19140 Жыл бұрын
@@crystalsmith4187 Leolah wasn’t truthful about everything, there were somethings she didn’t know. Whitney was tired of the music business, she was looking for a way to exit the industry prior to recording the I look to you album. Whitney didn’t have anyone in her corner during her decline, during her best years her best friend Robyn Crawford kept her grounded, when Robyn Crawford left Whitney life the decline of Whitney was kicked into a higher gear! I am not sure if you were aware but there was a photo snapshot of Whitney taken during the viewing prior to the funeral. That photo was the cover page of a tabloid, they paid someone from Bobby Brown family a lot of money for that photo! Take a short guess of who that individual was that got paid for that photo. Whitney severely damaged her voice, that was a hugh money maker for her, she was also broke, living on handouts, money she borrowed from her record label that advanced funds in the amount of 20 million to start work on a new album. Clive Davis paid for her to go to rehab, Whitney still owes the record company money from the 100 million contract her father helped negotiate prior to his death to repair the damage he done to her spending all her money, making her the biggest joke in his office. I believe that everytime these terrible things happened to Whitney she turned to drugs to comfort her, on this last occasion she was really seeking a way to suppress the pain, she really didn’t mean for it to lead to her death but it did. I do believe Bobby Kris was murdered, she was just starting to see the light to better days, along with support, love from people Whitney knew. It’s sad what happened, I know Bobby Brown is still in pain, I still continue to pray for him and his family. Whitney is gone, may she finally rest in peace within a quiet place!

@@crystalsmith4187 Whitney and I were only 3yrs apart in age and she was my favourite singer from the time I purchased her first album/cassette. There truly will never be another like her and she was aptly dubbed, “The Voice.” Sadly, despite her faith and love of God, her church could not intervene to help her beat the drugs and demons they brought into her young life. With her phenomenal success, she carried and supported her entire family and I honestly think that her Mum, Cissy, was jealous of her career, also telling Oprah after she died, that she would have rejected her daughter if she truly loved Robyn Crawford, the only person in her entorage, who honestly loved Whitney and tried to alert her family about her deadly drug abuse. Carrying her entire family, had to have been an enormous burden for Whitney and none of them took her drug abuse as seriously as other, no family members in her employ. Whitney’s chauffeur gave an interview after Whitney died, saying that he had written a letter and distributed it to her family and business managers, warning them of Whitney and Bobby’s dangerous drug use in the presence of her tiny, young daughter, warning them that when he drove Whitney, she often ordered him to drive her to areas in LA and Georgia locations, where she purchase crack cocaine and methamphetamines, which she smoked with Bobby in her limo, in Bobbi Kristina’s presence. He has said, that if anyone would have taken the report he had written seriously, Bobbi Kristina would still be alive today, but no one in her group of “hangers on,” wanted to rock the boat and endanger their chances of being cut off, financially, from Whitney’s support. Robyn could no longer stay in Whitney’s employ as she delved deeper into illicit drug use, so even after warning Cissy of what Whitney was doing behind the scenes, without gratitude or taking his alarm seriously, she left Whitney and is thriving and happy, with her partner and two children. In her book, Robyn said she and Whitney were lovers, a fact that Cissy told Oprah she would never accept, saying she would have rejected Whitney rather than accept her true identity as a bisexual woman. I find it confusing that Whitney did not view her own drug use as actions that were in conflict with her belief in God and feel very sad that her pastor/minister/bishop/reverend could not or did not intervene on Whitney’s behalf, to save her from herself. Whitney’s mother was a religious hypocrite, convening an affair with her church’s minister, while still married to Whitney’s father, getting proof of their illicit affair, after tapping Cissy’s phone and listening to the conversations the had during their love affair. While Whitney’s family all claim to have loved and cared for Whitney, it seems as though they loved her money more! After Whitney’s death, when some of her closest friend revealed that Whitney and both of her brothers were sexually molested by their cousin, Dee Dee Warwick, Cissy also rebuked that claim, even after her two brothers held fast to that revelation. Sadly, the once in a lifetime star, THE VOICE, was betrayed by her husband, her immediate family, (her father, whom she was closer to than she was to Cissy, brought a $100 million lawsuit against his only daughter as well), and Clive Davis also continued to push Whitney to make more money to glom onto, when what she needed was a reformation in her life, to get clean from her drug use. Whitney knew she had a problem, but it seems as though she had no idea how dangerous the life she was living, was to her well-being. May she truly RIP for eternity, with her beloved daughter.

"Hopefully her family, especially her daughter will be able to remember the good that she did and learn from her mistakes, not repeat them." Bruh, when did this video begin production? The info section says it was posted in 2022, which would mean Bobbi Brown had already been dead for 7 years at the point of this video being approved to hosted online, which is more than enough time to catch this wildly inappropriate ending monologue, which given the circumstances of how extremely similar Bobbi's death was to her mother's, just makes the whole bit seem like they're making a cruel joke at her expense. There's something that I've been thinking about here lately... you know how when a famous yet nearly forgotten Artist, Actor, Actress or Musician dies how sales more than double of their Movies, Paintings and copies/prints as well and for Musicians..CDs, Vintage Albums, singles & litany of memorabilia such as ticket stubs, photos, personal effects and all of the things they've created and endorsed .. what's more especially in the past 30 yrs Musicians/artist have become more & more involved in different branches of Art / creativity.. different mediums as well but I've noticed that nearly everything some artist "touch" literally and figuratively suddenly become more valuable and well it doesn't take a genius to figure out how to capitalize on everything a celebrity wears on and off the red carpet , their favorite dishes, restraunts, mouthwash, China ,Car including the automobiles in their garage but only 'tis one manufacturing co to be mentioned/ advertised 😁. And Soooo I think that some Whose reading this may very get the picture I'm trying to shoot here.. But that's not all that matters to me here..now what I'm going to strive for is complete understanding because what I'm going to write about now is how some some people write about their deceased loved ones for reasons that are completely self-centered and then there's Many others whom write from the heart with love and respect of/for others especially those whom are to be remembered for the loving thoughtful & caring people they were while alive...and so what if they happen to make a load of dough in doing so. I'd hate to be a publisher/editor for the X generation. but mainly in the case of celebrities from the late 90's.. I am tempted to read more than just the preface to "My Sisters Keeper" and I like the title she's given her book and I'm more than just curious about the factual evidence that she's dealt / dealing with and I pray that whomever took these two very special peoples lifes will be dealt with while they're still young enough to spend many years behind bars and then our Lord will take em or leave em.

Actually Dionne's correct name is Marie Dionne Warrick. In 1962 Dionne released her first single “I Smiled Yesterday,” with the more popular B side “Don't Make Me Over” Dionne's surname was misspelled as “Warwick” on the record, and she adopted the mistake as her name thereafter.

1:43 There's absolutely nothing of Roberta Flack in Whitney Houston, the most obvious being that Roberta doesn't wail her head off, ever; she's a subdued, formally trained vocalist (and former music and voice teacher), whose base is not in the Church. This thing starts off pretty off-key, and from reading some comments, I assume I'm correct in predicting that it's the work of amateurs... Think I'll pass, for now.

This is an awful "documentary", filled with inaccuracies! There are other Whitney Houston docs that are so much better, and more accurate. Who are these "experts" chiming in on Whitney's life? You can't just Google Whitney Houston and then create a "documentary" about her life and career. A lot of the information you'll find by searching Whitney is incorrect. Why don't you people go away and create a doc on Sesame Street or something. Leave the production of documentaries about industry giants alone! This is embarrassingly bad!

If you want to learn something new that most don’t know about her, read her “best friend” Robyn’s book. She talks about their romantic relationship before she started dating men, such as Eddie Murphy etc. Whitney was accused of being “gay” back in her prime and she denied the rumors. You can even watch her documentary where her family even talks about it her romantic relationship with Robyn, and Whitney’s father wanted Robyn out of the picture and was willing to pay someone to break her knee caps. Whitney made her manager and she kept her around and even insisted that Robyn stay around the whole time even through her marriage with Bobby until Bobby said she was creating issues in their marriage. But Robyn tells her story with Whitney that most of us are just finding out now. If you don’t want to buy the book, there’s videos on KZbin of people reading the book and talking about it. Look up : whitney houston and robyn crawford story part 1 And part 2 and so forth

@@butterflylamb526 No, I won't be reading Robyn Crawford's book. The two met as camp counselors. Miss Crawford, who was gay, forced her sexual preferences on an unsuspecting Whitney Houston. Her mother, Cissy Houston says her daughter was sort of a "delicate type" personality. The "bisexual" female that is implied is untruthful. Crawford, actually as a groomer, made Miss Houston think the lesbian relationship was cool. I don't blame her mother for removing Miss Crawford. This woman is an abuser.

I wish she had ACKNOWLEDGED her drug addiction, sought help, and made up her mind to quit drug use. I know that isn't an easy task; Natalie Cole had the same problem, yet sought change. She was in recovery until her death in 2016. Miss Houston's impeccable songs are overshadowed by her undisciplined, out-of-control life. Once having the voice of an angel, by the time of her death, she could no longer sing! The first crack in the exterior was her embarrassing interview with Diane Sawyer. Here you're saying "crack is wack," yet you're arrogant AND HIGH. There's not much to say about her. It ended for her at the young age of 48. And even worse, she didn't set an example for her only child! She too, became addicted, lost hope with her mother's passing, and ultimately died! She didn't have a chance for a normal childhood, or adulthood. This woman had the voice of an angel, rejected help, failed miserably. When she first came on the scene, she confidently said she was here for the long haul. Then she self-destructed! What a waste!
