@trha2222 One of the few great movies that I can watch over and over, again. When I was a kid (7 years old), my family spent vacation at Martha's Vineyard. While on the ferry, Island Queen, we saw a floating (towed) rig with a suspended shark in the distance. We were all intrigued because no one could figure out if that could really be a shark; it really looked like a huge shark, though it was quite far away. It left an impression for sure, as it was so odd to see and sparked quite a discussion at the time. We didn't realize it was THE mechanical shark ("Bruce") until the movie was released the following year.

Sorry to bum everyone out, but this last Blockbuster Video store won’t stay open forever. Now a days streaming has taken over and both movie lovers and tv lovers head to streaming services for all different kinds of movies and additional tv shows and series to watch, by using either a digital media player device like a fire tv stick or a smart tv. BlockBuster Video was awesome back in the day, but now it is gone. Streaming is a lot more convenient and has very high HD (1080) or 4K image quality and amazing audio surround sound quality. DVDs and Blu-rays are obsolete now and are on their last legs. Movie theaters are definitely still alive, but they’re being challenged very hard by streaming services. Sorry folks, but the old days are definitely gone and are a thing of the past. Just being realistic and honest.

This last surviving Blockbuster Video franchise store is owned by a company called Pacific Video, and the ceo for the past 30 years has been Kenneth Tish. Erik Carlson is the current ceo of Dish Network, which still own the Blockbuster brand.

I wish i had a Blockbuster down the street from my house. Love the idea and fun of going into the store and picking out a few movies. It was something to do and you would have human interaction. Now its too easy and taken for granted.

I wonder if they still pay franchise fees. We still have a small chain here in westland Mi with three outlets.

When I was a kid I couldn't wait for the weekend so I could go to blockbuster and rent movies and games for the weekend. Just seemed like a simpler time back then.
