Seen no one say this yet but the spike field when you die is probably inspired by one of the designs thought up to keep future humans away from radioactive dump sites. The idea was that if all language had changed and humanity had forgotten these places the design was terrifying enough to deter exploration. Never used though, because in reality humanity would want answers why theres a spiked concrete nightmare forest out in the desert.

The saws were the original design, yeah. They were just too big for the small grids, though. Like, you could have a 2x1 grid I guess but that just complicates things. Easier to have a foldable saw that fits in the 1x1 grid.
