would be helpful to know if the car needs to be running, stopped, ignition on or off, before plugging in the device....that kind of thing. also numerous cars have multiple OBDII connectors. one for the engine and one for the body components. with all those variables it could take quite a bit of time and trouble to successfully reach what one might even begin.

Great Video Thank you! I have one question. Will this tell you if you have a cracked head or anything major. My car overheated real bad when the radiator blew. Replaced the raidator, no leaks but it idols horribly know. They you in advance for you response....

if your engine over heated theres a good chance you burned the "spider" or the seals keeping your water separated from oil. chck your oil dip stick and if its looking milky then thats what it is. If not, then you it could me many other things in that same category such as scarred cylinder walls and pistons, broken spark plugs due to excessive heat, but lets hope its just the last one

My car doesn’t have a parking sensor but I doubt it checks those because I think those sensors do not impact the core function of a car and won’t affect vehicle inspection.

You pressed the uupper arrow read botton. Other users, pressed the Enter Key. In any case, rather than going all the options. It would have been much informative how does this reader does a basic reading when the Check engine light is on. For some reason the reader devices that youtubers posters go unnecessarely through all the options. The basic need for a driver with check engine light is to plug in and read the code or codes that are causing the light to come on. But in the end thanks for trying to help, it takes time and even to buy the reader.

I was just wondering if it would as i have several customers that have 94 &95 vehicles still. One is a 95 Chevy S-10 that is federal emissions OBD1 with the OBD2 connector. None of my high end scanners would communicate with it.

Short answer is no. Let’s say I wiped all codes from my car. If I use this it will scan the car and tell me there isn’t data. I will have to drive it to and from work for there to be enough data for this device to read.

The way to check to see if codes were wiped is to run the drive readiness test. When codes are wiped, it also wipes all of the sensor info stored in the ECU. If the test comes back as not ready, then the codes have been reset.

No, but the Foxwell BT100 can test battery. kzbin.info/www/bejne/i529cqiYp7uYkK8 I've used this quite a few times and it's been great. As for alternator I just use a voltage meter. Don't need a fancy voltage meter. I even have on that plugs directly into the car cigarette power port. If the voltage is higher when the car is running than when the car is not running, the alternator is doing it's job.

Same codes I get on my Pontiac torrent. They're generic codes for you just got ripped off too. I did the update on the reader after over an hour finding out how to download the app that does it. Still not reading it.

I’m not familiar with their pricing model or store. As for the item, I use it for basic troubleshooting. Recently had to use it with 2000 Lexus ES300. Now if I wanted more in depth analysis I would had to pay extra. I didn’t and I don’t need real-time monitoring. I just took the error code it gave me then looked it up on the internet and went to Pepboys for the part.

AwkwardHamster - regarding your answer above, what if you replace parts of the steering wheel connectors, the only way to find out if the work carried out has worked is to turn off the light - process of elimination! The air-bag warning light needs to be turned off to find out if the job has actually worked. So does this unit actually turn the dash warning light off??? Thank you!

السلام عليكم .. الجهاز بختصار مفيد يساعدك في معرفة حالة السيارة من الناحية المكيانيكية والكهربائية .. ويعتبر مفيد جدا للي حتى لغير الميكانيكي وأيضا مبسط .. اهم شي ذكره كحيلان اللي زر Read وزر Erase والزر الأزرق IM تشبك الجهاز وتشغل السيارة يشتغل الجهاز معك تعلق على زر يقر لك حالة المكينة والحساسات .. اذا أموره طيبه راح يولع اخضر اذا لا اصفر بيطلع كذا كود يقول إيش المشكلة في السيارة .. اذا حمر بع السيارة ههههه المهم اذا اصفر او اذا طلع كذا كود .. خش عليه .. اذا مافهمت الكود ادخل على خيار look up وابحث عن صناعة السيارة كل ودخل الكود وراح يعطيك العله .. أما زر erase تستخدمه في حالة طلعت مشكلة عندك وصلحته وباقي العلامة طالع في الطبلون علق عليه ويسوي لك اعادة ضبط مصنع .. الزر الأزرق حق فحص اللي يطلع من الشمكان .. يعني خاص في المكينة ان صح القول .. تقبل تحياتي .. اتمنى افدتك ..
