True, those were probably the only legit overtakes in the race apart from Tsunoda making a few moves, and bwoah, it's either Piastri tailing Sainz, Magnussen trailing Zhou or Norris trailing Max.

I think we all knew Max was going to win, but what I don't think any of us expected was that he would get the win while being under some actual pressure. Seems Lando is starting to restore a small bit of hope that there's at least one other car and driver on the whole grid that can remotely challenge Max Vanderstoppen.

One thing Imola highlights is how broken the current points system is. In theory McLaren should of gotten more points than Red Bull this race due to Perez's disastrous weekend, finishing 2nd and 4th should get you more points collectively overall than 1st and 8th... however in reality they got around the same number points (Red Bull 29, McLaren 30). First place gives too many points, compared to the other places, what's even the point of having 2 cars when 1 car can seemingly carry a team to the Constructors Championship. Hypothetically if Perez failed to score any more points this season, and Max won all the remaining races, Red Bull would probably win the Constructors. That doesn't sound right, and that doesn't feel right. The Constructors title should reward the most consistently great team with both cars, not reward a team that focuses all their time, development and upgrades around 1 driver to the active detriment of the other.

That Toleman Ghasly got to drive at Silverstone looked more balanced and competitive than the 2024 Alpine. Yikes, where did Alpine go so wrong. As for why Ghasly drove it? Toleman > Benetton > Renault > Lotus > Renault > Alpine Also Seb got to drive the MP4/8 pre race as well and all I thought when I saw that was finally, a car that makes actual noise and sounds punchy and raw, not quiet and like the 2024 cars. The TV direction was so infuriating during the race. Every time there was an exciting moment on the front, they decided that : "Hmm lets watch Zhou trying to overtake Logan Sargent at 18th." Or when Norris chased Verstappen, he is on a knifes edge, but we won't show that, we're instead showing Zack Brown's nose hairs for a lap straight.
