FP3 Fuelpak Install and Review

This is video I install and review a Vance & Hines FP3 tuner on a Harley Davidson Softail Slim. I go over the install of the FP3 and some of it`s basic features. Very informative and easy to understand. Thanks Tony. I tried auto tuning my bike however, when I'm done the ride I couldn't "save" the mapping onto my phone. It asks me to shut the power off, but when I do and start it back up, I lose the whole session. (piss me off). I have a 2019 Heritage114 and it doesn't use a key, so I can't shut the motor off and keep the power on. It's all in one switch. How the hell do I save my autotune maps? AHHHHH!!! Thanks for any "imput" or hints you might have. Cheers, John

Hey John, when you apply the info the map does start all over again. You bike will remain in auto tune till you actually flash the map.

Get lowered is very close to me and they do answer their e-mails, a big plus. Also, they have on sale the Bassani Road Rage 3 for the Roadster. Just one question, does the FP3 have the option of the RR3 exhaust with the Harley Screaming Eagle air cleaner? I am definitely not doing any motor work, been there, done that. I just need reliable & simple now in my life.

Try one fire cracker first then move up if it keeps popping.

Hey Tony! I really appreciate your channel! Lot of great infos, great vids, in fact it's like i'm at university of Softail slim 2018 ;) ! So if I understand, I got mine 1 month ago. Have a custom exhaust, and oem HD air cleaner. If i want to upgrade, i can put an aftermarket air cleaner and I don't need a dyno tune, i can simply buy a FP3 and autotune myself? Thanks for you answer

Yeah man, the FP3 has hundreds of dyno tuned maps to choose from. If your combo isn’t listed give them a call and they will suggest a map to use. Most of the the time autotune isn’t really needed their can map works perfectly.

It should, I believe the k & n is rated as a high flow air filter. Might wanna check with Vance & Hines their customer service is fantastic.

Great vids! What are your thoughts on the VH Fuel Pak3 vs Screamin' Eagle Pro street tuner? VH seems more intuitive since it's thru an app.

FP3 is much easier to use, but it voids your warranty if you still have one. The pro tuner will keep your warranty. I personal use the FP3 I have had zero problems with it. I have a few videos up about the FP3 you should check out. Thanks for watching👊

Yes I figured you knew . So I really do not want to wait for another 18 months to do the complete Stage I upgade . I do not know if I have enough confidance in Harley's new M8 engine , what are your thoughts ? thankd

Hey Brudford, if you use the Harley tuner your warrenty stays intact. The M8 is proving to be solid motor in my opinion. There has been some issues but that is to be expected with a completely new design. Thanks for watching ride safe

Tony ,I bought the exact same Softail Slim summer of 2019 . Dealer had me sign a waiver that any map tunned other than the Harley tunner voids your factory warranty as per Harley's agreement with the EPA . Although I think you already knew that and are willing to take the chance on possible thousands of dollars of warranty work that now will not be covered for you .

Just ride and break in your Harley then after the two years is up then its time change pipes, toss on a big air sucker etc. and tune away.

Don't buy the tuner from an HD dealer and don't worry about signing a waiver on your warranty. Let them find it and if they do, discuss it with them at that point. Any dealer who voids your warranty for things that have nothing to do with the engine isn't a dealer we want to use anyway.

I definitely would try the FP3 on my 2020 bike, but I have to wait till the bike is 2 yrs old otherwise the powertrain warranty is void. I hope people realize that important fact. And yes, Harley can tell when the mapping has been altered.

Yes it does only one that keeps your warrenty is the screaming eagle.

No, cams come in all different flavors. You can call Vance and Hines and try might be able to get you close. Then you could always autotune to sail it in. Thanks for watching 👊

An FP3 will void the warrenty. Harley makes one that will keep the warrenty intact.

I spoke with the Harley dealership and while they did confirm using it technically voids the warranty, so does using non-OEM mufflers and air intakes, but the dealer never really cared (they were the ones that installed them). If you ever have a problem, just flash it with your stock map and remove the FP3 and you'll be fine.
