When you consider Haaland is £15m, and you can get both Mateta and Toney for £15m, makes me think that could be a better option? 🤔 A good pricing structure will hopefully eradicate a common 'template' team being adopted by the vast majority. I think this Season more than any other a monthly 'differential' punt on a selection of inform players could be key to getting ahead of any template teams........maybe.

It’ll be interesting to see everyone’s team at the start considering prices are this high About £65m for just Haaland, Salah, Watkins, Foden, Palmer and Saka. Harwood-Bellis, Aït-Nouri, Pereira and Davis will probably be highly owned as enablers. I’m 100% no Haaland, if Bernardo and De Bruyne leave (or just one of them) than Julian will be a great option again for half the price of Erling, that £7-8m you save can prove to be a huge advantage.

As soon as I got rid of Haaland last season, I started doing far better. The more people that own a player, the less valuable the points they earn are. At 15mil that might make him inadvertently the least valuable player to choose (assuming his pick rate stays high).

Hey Andy, how about running a with, and without, Haaland squad next season? $15m is 15% of the budget. Could a 'Big in Midfield' squad, with some nailed on penalty takers as Captain options give a higher score than a Haaland based squad? There certainly could be more flexibility to chop and change the squad and chase the form players, but who........

I'm happy with all those prices and I also think that generally pricing is too cheap. The key to them getting this right is Saka, Palmer, Foden all being £10m+, so its impossible to have all of them with Haaland. Hopefully we see a bit more team variety and an increase in the difficulty level this season.

First pick for me. Another pre-season for Pep to tweak the formation and playstyle to get the best out of Haaland. A good rest over the summer while all the top Prem defenders and strikers are at the Euros and Copa America. Another year closer to his peak years. Fancy him to seriously smash it this season. Midfielders again will be cheap enough to afford that extra mill no problem.

Ipswich were much better defensively than those numbers let on imo, could get clean sheets in a lot of games despite the jump I’d say (WBA fan)

For context, they had the 4th highest clean sheets and only gave away 3 penalties all year. They also scored 2 goals per match which they won’t be doing next year, so they’ll be even more defence minded this year. I think they have a chance to stay up from clean sheets alone.

They did underperform their xGA by 10, which basically means they let in goals they shouldn't have this could be down for a few reasons 1. Very unlucky and their opponents were just very clinical 2. Crap Keeper Maybe it's conformation bias because i want to Captain Salah against Ipswich but i think I'm going to target them still

FPL look at this really wrong... The way to reduce Haalands ownership is not by pumping up his price, BUT by making the other players more expensive... Simple economic rules.... Really childish view from FPL. If other players are so cheap, people will own Haalnd even if he is 20m. They will find th way. BUT if you make Havertz MArtineli Diaz Palmer NKuku Son etc much more expensive, then there is a decision to make.

I agree with this, but maybe FPL are hoping that having Haaland will cripple your team compared to a more balanced team. Reason I disagree with this personally is that goals and bonus points are the most important thing across all positions, apart from goalkeeper - clean sheets for them & defenders important too. But clean sheets are much rarer than goals; why you often used to see teams full of fullbacks when attacking fullbacks were a thing, so you'd have to make sure the next 4 best goalscorers won't fit with Haaland

Until they come to their senses and redefine the wide 4-3-3 players (Salah, Son, Saka etc.) as forwards instead of midfielders, then the trend towards 'chalk' teams will get worse.
