The thing is that nobody has ever won FPL twice, Ali won the 22/23 season and the next season he didn't even get top 1 million. That just shows how much luck there's involved with FPL. The advice I trust the most is the advice I get from top ranked regulars, the guys who almost get top 10k, top 50k top 100k every year. The beauty of FPL is that literally anyone can win it, you need lots of luck and obviously you need to be smart about how you play the game.

For you to get in top 0.3% of all players, three years in a row, it's not due to luck Imagine an annual competition where 10,000,000 people participate and only the top 30,000 win prizes. You reach top 30,000 in first year and by winning a prize is like a 1 in 333 chance. But then to do that consecutively three years in a row is much, much, much more unlikely. It doesn't then become a 1 in 999 chance, but increases so much more. It is more than just luck

i have him starting with verbruggen against a poor attacking side in everton week 1. he was there best player last game of season and in preseason he has performed well. looks like he will get the start and as a fullback its worth it for me

I currently have an Arsenal defender, a Liverpool defender and a Palace defender. Not convinced on Everton early on - definitely after GW5. I'm confused by why the community is swinging to big at the back after lauding 4.5 defenders because BPS is going to take all the bonus points away. I know that's overstated but there is a swing towards attacking players. Therefore, I am prepared to flip/flop between Arsenal and City defence because I want to pump more money into attack early on. Also, the clamour for Trent is hysterical. He's come down in price two seasons in a row because he's had two poor seasons. He's not worth 7 million.

Think it's not the month off it's the fact that they return to training much later and miss pre-season tours etc. Gakpo, Nunez, Jota, Diaz, Trent etc aren't in Liverpool's traveling squad for example. Probably won't be much of a factor come GW1
