That was a first for a fan film! Actors that can actually act! This is by far the best fan film I have watched, and I've watched quite a few. I felt as if I was watching actual trek. The acting was fluid and not awkward like other fan films. It left me wanting more. Very well done.

Nice one ace942 - we did our best to keep the production values as high as we could with very little money. One nice thing about our story I think, is that hopefully whether you foresee the conclusion or not it is still enjoyable to watch as it unfolds. This is such a beautiful story and shows how magical a true Star Trek episode can be if written with the same love and skill as the franchise writers had long ago. A simple story told so elegantly. Wonderful acting, especially from the doctor who drew a tear from me at the end. It goes to show that Star Trek can be done brilliantly without a single phaser being fired. Something I love about this is that you chose to make use of a Miranda class. Something I hate about a lot of star trek fan films (and star trek media generally) is that they are often set on the best, top of the line ships of the fleet. I want to see a crew contend with a beaten up old warhorse that they have to nurse to keep up and running. I started writing my own trek story where the crew were specifically set on an old constellation class lifted out of mothballs. I just wish other creative minds did the same. Otherwise kudos to the two actors playing Dr. Good and Rose. They did an extraordinary job. Some of the best acting I've seen in a fan film.

I agree too that Hayward and Ayvianna delivered great performances. The film would have fallen rather flat if they weren't such good performers I think. Good story, well shot and dam good acting...and I guess it was probably a no budget production. Yet costumes, sets and graphics were high enough spec to just be "as good as real". With all these elements added together it becomes an epic creative success in its own right. I know this may sound a bit cheesy but the fact you all have achieved such a high level of excellence as a team only highlights Gene Roddenberry vision that he gave us in Star trek......."look what we can achieve together when money and power are removed from the equation""...

It's almost tragically short-sighted for the "powers that be" to be so firmly determined to neither accept the validity, love, attention to detail, and professionalism of Fan Flics. Nobody wins. There is no new idea development, evolution of characters, or original plot synthesis that comes from denying the existence of and the stonewalling of fan involvement in the Trekverse. We can see the stagnation and creaking standards of writing, direction, and story creation, but we are restricted from contributing to making it better because networks and corporate producers and sponsors have limited vision and creativity. I've been watching fan flics for a while now, and the cornucopia of talent and determination to create is stunning. If these were pilots, choosing which ones to produce would be a daunting task. If the network had been this unresponsive and blinkered in the '60's no amount of fan pressure to continue with Star Trek would have made a difference. I'm in awe of almost every film, and this one has especially good acting, scripting, direction, creativity, originality, and focus. This is what Star Trek should be about; finding the purity and drive of a story and telling it.CGI has become so over-used that the sfx are more important than the story. Nothing is more important than the story.

Indeed ! CGI has turned Sci - fi into a shoot 'em up / blow it up / explode whole planets video game. I , like the old Dr. in here , long for the days of "The man who was never born " , " The Inheritors ", " The Lathe of Heaven " ( 1980 NOT the newer one, of which , comparing the 2 versions exemplifies exactly what the problem seems to be ) " Quarantine " ( Ironically prophetic ? ) & a select handful of others.( There was a Martin Balsam / Jenny Agutter 80s T Z or O L that was exceptional & a few others here & there ov t yrs ) Re; OST ...Did you hear about Gene R attending some channelling sessions in Cal in t 50s-60s that supposedly contacted a group called " the nine ". I found it interesting how 7 of the main characters in Trek correspond to other material fr t bay area later published in t 70s. Great Ray Bradberry story about when he wrote " Fahrenheit 451 ".I know THAT one is true , as I saw him telling it himself.

@@FixFilmsLtd I just watched it again. Four days ago, I had a medical emergency and very nearly died. As I watched this, I thought about MY wife, and what she would be feeling RIGHT NOW had the unthinkable happened. I had a sudden drop in Blood Sugar and had she not been there to call the medics I would not be typing this comment now! I loved the plot. I'm a Physicist and an Engineer, and I do not discount ANY of these possibilities. I'm hoping that SOMEONE will pick up where Einstein left off and FINISH his Unified Fields theory. IF that happens Alcubierre's BRILLIANT work will become "Old News".....
