I used part of this footage in my AG01 gimbal review a few months back. I thought it was a good chase, so here's 3 minutes of it! A little chatter audio from the GoPro stickcam.

@@viktorbihar5384 well yes but even my below 250gram 3" quad from like 3 years ago would smoke them at 3x the speed at least, even with my very minimal skill level if you give me 5 minutes to practice. It wasnt a race though, it was a casual smooth follow cam. Clearly for that course a nimble 3" with aggressive acceleration all the way past 100mph is going to dominate, but it's not as good for cebematic follow cams (although with the new HD fpv cams, which I don't think were out yet when I got my quad, those could make it interesting for following). His quad is probably setup more like a Harley, it's good for cruising and being smooth, but with a GoPro strapped on its no sportsbike. The airplane looks to be a more intermediate airplane and nothing too advanced or radical high speed so it's more like a scooter. You could follow the scooter with a sport bike, but the Harley is more than capable keeping up. *Note when I mean intermediate, I'm used to designing advanced jet powered UAVs (that use advanced high alpha fluid dynamics like vortex shed lift, and thrust vectoring jet engine, as well as stealth radar evasive), so "intermediate" is way more pilot skill than I have for doing what they are safely, but it's not thrust vectored advanced fluid physics. Quadcopters though I love to do tricks with them and extreme precision close proximity (my blades are always stained green because I like buzzing the grass and flying through trees or mini gates with tiny whoops etc). I love flying but legally I can't (just like 95% of Americans where they live), but that doesn't stop me any more than a speed limit sign, lol! Also I don't fly jets, I crash way too often and just the carbon fiber skin alone costs more than my first car cost, and those jets for hobbyists are thousands of dollars (someday I will, but I need to practice fixed wing a lot more before then! Maybe just EDFs, those are cheap)

@Jake Garrett Read all of that. Nice to know. I was thinking somewhat the same thing, and I think the fluid air dynamics does give the wing a huge advantage. Most drones also have all four props on one plane, which I believe hinders stability when flying straight at high speeds, where the poor aerodynamics of drones birngs them down. Interestingly enough, on cinemaphotographic like DJI, the rear props are angled forward a bit more to counter the otherwise aerodynamics of the drone had the rear props not been tilted.

We have been developing a coaxial, counter-rotating birotor for more than six months! This was VERY interesting! There are two important things to note ('MEASURES'): 1)power vs. speed (quad vs. wing) 2)power vs. speed vs. payload (in most cases just one or more cameras, Military asside!) THESE two 'measures' are effectively 'PRODUCTIVITY' as even during hover, the two craft ARE a form of 'TRANSPORTATION': THOUGH VTOL and HOVER are of significant value, the payload MUST be 'carried' a reasonable distance (=tranportation) as a 'tethered balloon' would satisfy any brequirement for a STATIONARY/ELEVATED observation platform!
