My spouse would laugh if I asked her to come on an adventure and fly with me! She supports me flying but has zero interest excepting the video sometimes. Which I like. I go flying partly to get away from people and questions! But more power to her for taking a keen interest in what is clearly a passion for Conrad. And you can tell they're sweet on each other. Flying and adventuring as a team. Cool. Maybe she's part of the reason he's so good at what he does. When things get tense, another brain can be good.

Do the trueRC singularity antennas work better than the dji stock antenna for the 03 air unit? And are you using a ufl to sma pigtail or are the antennas ufl? And how many miles were these flights? I also want to get into real longrange fpv and want to buy a 7" or 8" drone. As Im not super comfortable with building, I will go with a bnf. I still have the dji v1 goggles and the best option I could find was the foxeer mega 7 and foxeer aura 8. I want to mainly use 6s2p 18650 packs and so wanted to ask you if I should go with the 7" or 8"?
@FalconRadFPV4 ай бұрын
Probably better with a 7" or 7.5". For an 8" you'll probably want to step up to 6s2p with 21700 cells.

What lipo / liion combinations are you using with the 7” (2806.5 1300)?
@FalconRadFPV4 ай бұрын
My prefered li-ion setup is 6s2p with p28a 18650 cells. It's about 640 grams over 5000mAh and is rated for 70 amps constant. For my quad with the big top plate I like using the GNB 7000mAh LiHV battery. It's got way more power than the li-ion setup, over 6000mAh useable capacity and only 700 grams.

Yes, perfect for 4s, I guess ok for a 6s build too, you would just need a throttle limit set so that you only use maybe 75% of it.

Hey FalconRad. A few weeks ago an eagle or a falcon attacked my 7 inch drone while i was descending a mountain. It attacked 4 times and non of these attacks actually damaged my props, neither the battery. In one of these attacks it actually yaw flipped the drone 180 degrees. Later when i returned i saw that one of the VTX antennas was almost completely unscrewed. Have you with your long range experience at any time been in the same situation? And if yes, how did you deal with it?
@FalconRadFPVАй бұрын
Wow that's crazy! I've heard several stories like this but have never encountered it myself. I guess descending a mountain it would be tough to get away, the bird would be able to hit 100kph easily in a dive.

I have nearly this exact same setup in terms of video, except I’m using 8 turn LHCP helical antennas for the bottom SMAs on my Goggles V2. Also using O3 air units with True RC Singularity antennas. With the FCC channels enabled and with *perfect* LOS, I got significantly less range than what you’re demonstrating. To the point that after the flight I swore I would sell all my Digital gear from my long range builds. This is on the Falcon RPM, with T Motor F90 motors, 7” props, and 2x 6S Molicel P28A packs. I would have sold the gear already but the Rush FPV analog stuff I buy is really hard to find right now. Any tips? I had to GPS rescue out and didn’t regain video link until pretty close range.
@FalconRadFPV4 ай бұрын
it's got to be the antennas or something to do with the goggle/air unit settings. You should get 3 or 4 km no problem at all, even with so/so antennas. I've heard that the goggles v2 do take a while to get video back when the link is fully lost. Double check the polarity for all the antennas is correct as well, the lhcp singularities are grey, the rhcp are red. Maybe a damaged ufl or sma connection? You could also try swapping out to different antennas in case one is bad.

Wot wattage do you run the rc link on?? I love all these videos you do. also may i please ask wot sound track did you use at 15:42 please as i love it
@FalconRadFPV4 ай бұрын
it was either explosive story or trash talk action by stevens/grenga Think I got it from the audio hero website. For my crossfire TX link I run it at 500mW usually. I've done the same flights with the older TX V1 at 250mW as well. In the middle of nowhere there is basically no interference so I don't need a lot of power on the TX signal.

What is the highest elevation mountain youve flown? Assuming youve flown above 2+km of elevation above sea level, what degree of performance loss have you observed? How do you account for this in your flight planning?
@FalconRadFPV26 күн бұрын
The flight difference is not all that noticeable, even at 3.4km elevation. But also, flying long range I'm not doing fast difficult freestyle moves so it's harder to notice the difference. I always pull out of a dive a bit early just to be safe, so if it takes 0.2 of a second longer to do it, it's really hard to notice. Maybe flying a crazy high peak like 7 or 8km up it might be more of an issue.
