Ms Jackson I had a friend that was your daughter. And coming up in the Kiki scene she was my mother for a short time. But she protected me fiercely from our counterparts and always inspired me to be the best me. Her name was Shanice (from Mount Vernon) so because I was a kitten in 2005 I never really knew who you were and then I saw you on pose. And always wondered how she was doing and how proud she must of been because of you. I lost contact around when I was 15. But to see the kinda person you are I understand why she was so kind and wise and putting people before herself. And I just want to say I appreciate you doing it for her so she can do it for me. And I hope she is well so if you are in contact with her. Just mention the house of next. (Kiki house) and the little caramel skin boy with the braids. But thank you and I love you for how you affect people you don’t even know exist.

To answer temptresses question no our ancestors were not praying to the same god as the wicked. When our ancestors were taken from African they had their own spiritual beliefs. Our people were punished in an array of ways for practicing their own spiritual beliefs hunts why Christianity is one of the prominent religions in our community. Since we weren’t able to practice our own spiritual beliefs openly we got crafty so to speak. We learned to hide of own spiritual transitions in our masters own which birth a new transition of our own. Hoodoo ( nothing like voodoo or Vodun both are close religions) is a folk based spiritual system birthed by our ancestors. There’s more than just hoodoo but that’s just a start. If you look at some of the superstition we believe in like spitting on a broom if it touches your feet or the “dreaming of fishes” superstition that comes from our ancestors back in the day. Lol I could go on an on and deeper in depth but that’s just an overview.
