I am so impressed and thankful for this priest' theological training! I appreciate his sharing of the clear definition of blessings, it remjnds us that its Always about our Lord! Not priests that rush to give blessings...that is theater, not about God. Good job to call out the confusion!

I mentioned fiducia supplicans to a Dominican priest, he didn't like me talking about it, but he did say, more or less !!! That a blessing was ok, he gave the example, if he couldn't give absolution to a person he could however give them a blessing. The Dominicans will be devided on this issue

Here in Dublin, our own Archbishop welcomed Fiducia Supplicans and has left priests to get on with implementing it. I have had this confirmed to me by a priest of this Archdiocese. For my part, I thank you Robert for your research. This is a moment of testing for the universal Church. The Dutch Bishops have passed. The Archbishop of Dublin has failed: some of his predecessors will be turning in their graves. I will of course pray for Archbishop Dermot that he reconsider.

A blessing must be aimed at the salvation of souls. And this intention is not to be fulfilled if the blessing is only accompanying sin and not leading to renouncing sin and conversion. And because the church can not stop being church, the church can only give liturgical blessings on things that are inherently good. So the notion of the existence of a pastoral blessing on disordered things is confusing and false.

I think the thing almost everyone is missing is that it literally depends on the intention of the priest. If he means for it to be a blessing of the couple it is. If he means for it to be a blessing of individuals then it is. The issue is the potential of scandal.

LifeSite News had an interview with Bp Strickland a couple of days ago. LifeSite is saying that FS and especially the 2021 Resonsum when translated are different in the various languages mentioned and he gave specifics. Bp Strickland said the Church has used Latin for centuries to avoid confusion which wasn’t done here. Both were issued in Spanish with varying translation problems into other languages.

As a former military man I say that this church militant is being utterly abused by horrendous leadership of the most selfish and cowardly kind. These men will destroy both the mission and the church if they are not removed from office by the courage and determination of those who actually know the faith and are passionate enough to lead from the front by insisting without equivocation that this vile hypocrisy shall not pass or remain unchecked. Pope Francis should either repent, resign or be removed. Enough is enough. These bad men need to go. Obedience to bad governance is treason to the divine commission.

Im mindful of a great priest that worked in the missions in Africa. He once yold a story of the time they were robbed at gunpoint while sleeping... Before the thieves left they asked for a blessing. Quickly he found words of zero meaning and waved his hands about... the men believed they were blessed and left the building. I think his words were, "thank God nobody was hirt during this robbery, Amen" 😆 word salad essentially! Thanking God nobody was harmed and not blessing the thieves! The guy was well switched on even while being held at gunpoint. A clever priest will bless the person not the sin. If it were me i wouldn't give it any energy.

The same-sex couple ‘blessing’ causes a number of questions. Why is it couple blessing if “People are blessed; not the union”? What is a homosexual couple seeking by asking for a blessing? What is the Church offering in response? What is the Holy Spirit called for and what is exactly being blessed? What is a spiritual purpose of such a ‘blessing’ and what sort of a particular help it intends to provide? Love and acceptance can make miracles of soul transformation, and Pope Francis' vision on the same-sex unions seems to be about love and acceptance. Yet, the same-sex couple blessing would make sense if the Church dumps viewing the same-sex relationship per ser as a sin. Without that, such a 'blessing' appears conflicting and self-contradictory. The entire issue of the homosexuality as such and the sin does not look straightforward at all. For example, some people refer to Leviticus 20:13: "If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them". Does this mean that about 4% of human population should be now "put to death"? Would it be a proclaimed Christian way of love and acceptance? Would it be compatible with the words of our Lord: "Let He Who Is Without Sin Cast the First Stone" (John 8:7)? Apostle Paul in 1 Cor 6:9,10 was talking specifically about "men who have sex with men" with the intention to just satisfy their lust, but said nothing about homosexuality as such. The Holy Scripture condemns sexual lust in all its appearances - ‘traditional’ and ‘pervert’, but says nothing at all specifically about homosexuality and same sex people, who want to live together in love and faith. Nevertheless, this unlikely defends the incompatibility of the same-sex couple blessing with the current Church doctrines and policies. Faithfully yours, bishop Vincent Berg.

At the end of each Mass, a priest gives a general blessing to ALL parishioners - homosexuals included- therefore it is not necessary to ask for public, personal, and co flicted unions. Sorry but, a priest could bless individuals without causing scandal or "blessing" his/her sinful behavior or condition of addictions -NOT judgment, love the sinner not the sin. In COUPLES SAME SEX BLESSING, the priest is also blessing the UNION, THEIR RELATIONSHIP, AND THEREFORE, THE SIN. Christ talked about CONVERTION! 😢

1. God created unisex persons, God did not create altered transgendered persons. 2. Those who are born unisex are called to the Church. 3. Those involved in a sinful situation (not born unisex) are also called to the Church. However, not on Church grounds. Intended blessing is to WARN and call back to the Church those willing to renounce the sin. Here, to find intention of the persons involved in same sex union. (((Again, read the document, do not be crazy thinking something I am NOT!!! My family tree speaks for itself. We have been defending the Church for centuries!!!!)))
