You have such a relaxed and laidback approach to your videos. Thanks for doing what you do.

This is VERY VERY interesting: The Compressor at the end, most times I see people put them 1st in the Chain. But the Filter Block was really very Informational too. A time saver. JASON is quite the expert.

This looks like the start of something Fractal should pay you big time for. Interesting as always.

Nice job Jason! I'm glad you're liking the FM3 and it sounds fantastic with that guitar (and your playing of course). re: compressor... it might also be worth checking out the compressor built into the amp block in the 'dynamics' section. my go-to settings are: Output Compression: +3db Compressor Type: Gain Enhancer Compressor Threshold: -20dB and I tweak from there but certainly YMMV. Anyway, just something to check out at some point and it usually saves me from using a dedicated compressor block. Thanks for the vid!

One of the benefits of Fractal is just put an amp and cab in the chain and you are there. On the base tone side of things. It doesn't require the excess eq gymnastics required to get the Helix in the "same" ballpark.

Thanks for the tips. I’ve applied them to another amp model - the USA Clean- (Mesa Boogie Mark IV) - sounds great 👍🏼

Jason, I am also interested in your honest opinion about how the Stomp compares to the FM3. Regardless of all the opinions raised on YT I am still under the impression of different approaches but not better or worse. If you told me otherwise I would consider switching.

Hi Jason can we change the presets using computer keyboard shortcut keys?

Hey Jason I am a hxstomp user and I am looking to upgrade to something a little more powerful. I am curious your thoughts between if you would rather have the fm3 or helix floor if you could only pick one

hi Jason, I just got an FM3 and are in need of a set of nice monitors that are loud for home use only. what would you recommend and do i hook them up with XLR out from FM3 into monitors? or do i need a DAW. so far im plugging my computer speakers into the headphone jack but i get alot of bad sounds or clipping bass distorted . not on all presets tho. i have to play with the manual input 1 volume dial alot. is there a different setting im missing to get cleaner louder sound? other than the -10v or +4 ?

How to create great tone in FM3? Just load up the amp and a cab block and that's it. other stuff are all optional. lol
@RobbenBanks1533 жыл бұрын
Yes! Lol. It sounds so good.

Sadly its not as easy as you may think. I just bought my FM3 with a headrush 108....and it sounds like "shit". I still havent been able to get a decent tone out of this unit. I know its powerful and it could do the job, its just not as easy as choosing 2 blocks. Sadly.....

Jason has done a video on this very matter. Ultimately, there isn’t really a definitive conclusion. Both companies produce excellent products and, as Jason points out, we’re incredibly lucky to have such amazing options available to us. There are some technical approaches that differ and users may have a preference for one or the other. In terms of sound, it’s largely subjective. In general, both Helix and Fractal products are capable of great sounding tones. Which of those people prefer is entirely subjective and that can’t really be measured. In blind tests, comparing the Helix with the FM3, the results came out just in favour of Helix but they were so close as to be inconclusive. I’ve used the Helix LT, Boss GT-1000 Core and I’m now using the FM3. My preference is for the FM3, but as Jason so rightly points out, confirmation bias may well play a part in it. In the end, if you can’t get a decent sound out of any one of these three units, then amp modellers probably aren’t for you.
