Thinking about your comments on jobs in heaven, and how few of earthly activities translate to that realm, I thought of the job I would love to have in the heavenly realms. I'm a grandma and I've been cooking for my family and other people my whole life. I have studied it in depth and have several cuisines which I have mastered to offer others. Cooking for others and seeing them enjoy the food is my greatest joy. I was imagining myself as an angel cooking in heaven. What would that be like? I could picture that I would be bringing elements of love, light, and joy together in beautiful and "delicious" arrangements. These "meals" would be wonderful for others to take into themselves to enjoy and be nurtured by.

I love that picture, Ivorybow! Swedenborg says we receive our food gratis in heaven, but I'm thinking there are SO MANY people like you whose deep calling is to cook for people that somehow that love must be part of the mix. Maybe angels receive their food gratis but it doesn't just appear out of nowhere -- there's a whole huge team of angels that are having the fun of serving up love and light and joy and beauty and truth for nourishing folks! I look forward to benefitting from whatever you're serving up on the other side!

FBI Memo 6751 dated 1945 (Archived only FBI did not originate, it was subcontractor) Talas (more material) and Lokas (more spiritual). Just like Swedenborg described Heaven and Hell are of the qualities that they are. Even FBI confirms this and says even more. Describes 7 "Earths" all nested, commingled and interpenetrating. That is a hard concept to conceive of. Remember heaven is all about correspondences. Loka 7, Heaven, Loka 8, Heaven (Spiritual), Loka 9 Heaven (Celestial). FBI only acknowledges 7 Tala and 7 Loka, so 8 & 9 Spiritual and Celestial heaven are not on their radar at all LOL.

I haven't yet watched video (i will after this) but I'll say this first: I'm thrilled that you chose this subject, because fractals were one of the main reasons why I initially believed in Swedenborg's stuff; and I haven't seen it discussed much, id at all. H&H was the first book I read, and I discovered it/him just in time when 1. I had a profound STE and saw God, and 2. I was VERY MUCH into fractals at the time. I was reading much about Chaos Theory, and was especially fascinated by fractals, even if I didn't see them "live" yet, only static images (only years later I had a fractal software and was able to make fractals myself, and to visually "dive" into their endless iteration depths). And then I read H&H and saw that the Heaven has a fractal structure - humans organized into human-like societies, which in turn are organized into human-like "heavenly man". I immediately thought "man, there must be something to this stuff, fractals/self-similarity where NOT a thing in 18th century, this guy couldn't make this stuff up". Incidentally, few years later I had an "psychonautic" phase, where I explored psychedelic substances for a few years, and as it's well known, that's where fractals abound ;). And I knew (even had experiential proof, but that's a separate story) that these fractals one sees in a psychedelic trip were NOT a "hallucination"; but a hidden and normally invisible structure of the world that only becomes visible on a trip. And I also realized that a trip is a kind of "spill" of the spiritual world into physical perception, so I knew this means - ie. confirms - that the spiritual world is fractal-based, and in more ways than one. Ok, now to watching the video... ;)

Thanks, Curtis. This is so interesting applied to S teachings. You are saying what physicists cannot get to (yet), Plato said that there is a Cosmic idea of cat and from that an infinite variety appear. Surely, there can only be one Nature/Creation manifesting and must extend into other realms higher and higher, more and more sublime... Through Grace, I have experienced the One as the many. This is a 14th century poem by Kabir, one of the most revered mystics of India.... 'Why should we two ever want to part? Just as the rhubarb leaf lives floating on the water, we live as the Great One and little one. As the owl opens his eyes all night to the moon, we live as the Great One and little one. This love between us goes back to the first humans; it cannot be annihilated. Here is Kabir's idea; just as the river moves into the ocean, what is inside me moves inside you.' Translation by Robert Bly. Have a great day. You are serving/loving in a wonderful way and your innate goodness is a lighthouse for me in these strange days....

The correspondence of, the occurences of, the purposes of Fractals!! Yeah!! It seems to me that learning a new concept is like fractals as Curtis dives deeper and deeper into them in order to help us see them in larger and ever smaller details. For me fractals are a wonderful example of how correspondences work - like falling into the rabbit hole in Alice in Wonderland. Sorry - I just keep seeing more and more correspondences everywhere. I understand Curtis. It seems there are times when singular Angels as named in Scripture may act vs corporately. They may come as one or a few to instruct. Other times large groups can exclaim GOD'S Greatness as they did when they encouraged Shepherds. It also speaks of named Angels leading other Angels in their community or under their functions. Rev speaks of Michael and His Angels battling against the evil one (dragon) and his angels, defeating them. In Daniel, the singular Angel Gabriel sent to instruct him was helped by Michael (single) when others weren't there. It depends on circumstances. Some NDEs describe CHRIST'S interactions with Angels as though HE is mentoring them (standing behind or to the side of them). When The Angel of THE LORD met with Abraham, two Angels accompanied HIM. When it says The Heavens declare Your Glory, it means HIS Likeness. The Heavens declare HIS Image - JESUS (we are being conformed to the Image of HIS Dear Son).

Interesting, Michael. Swedenborg says hell is kind of the negative mirror image of heaven, as far as the levels, etc. go. But you make a good point that perhaps evil and falsity don't quite proliferate in the same way good and truth do -- I mean, g&t are always looking for another way to be useful. But I (Chara) think there would it would still be the case that one inhabitant of hell is kind of a reflection of their community and of the whole of hell, all at the same time. Something to wonder about!

@Off The Left Eye The soul is fractal in nature, meaning that the individual parts of the soul reflect the whole, and the whole reflects the parts. This fractal nature of the soul can be seen in the way that giving leads to abundance. When we give freely of ourselves, whether that be through acts of kindness, generosity, or compassion, we are contributing to the well-being of others, and in turn, contributing to the well-being of the whole. In doing so, we are also nourishing the individual parts of our own soul, which leads to a greater sense of fulfillment and abundance. On the other hand, withholding what we should give leads to scarcity. When we hold back from giving, we are not only denying others the opportunity to benefit from our generosity, but we are also denying ourselves the opportunity to nourish our own soul. This leads to a sense of lack and scarcity, as we are not contributing to the greater good. In this way, the fractal nature of the soul is reflected in the idea that the act of giving leads to abundance, while withholding leads to scarcity. The soul is a complex and multifaceted entity, and that by nourishing each individual part of the soul, we can contribute to the well-being of the whole.
@Juan-hd8lh
@Juan-hd8lh Жыл бұрын
@Off The Left Eye In the same way, our destiny is not predetermined, but rather, it is shaped by the choices that we make throughout our lives. These choices are based on our character, which is in turn shaped by the individual parts of our soul. In Matthew 7:16-18, Jesus says, "You will know them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorns, or figs from thistles? In the same way, every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit." This passage emphasizes the idea that our character is reflected in our actions. A good character will lead to good actions, while a bad character will lead to bad actions. In the Swedenborgian tradition, this is understood to mean that our character is the very essence of our soul, and it is through our character that we shape our destiny. In Swedenborg's book Divine Providence, he writes, "Man's life after death is such as his life has been in the world" (Divine Providence 9). This statement supports the idea that our character, and therefore our destiny, is shaped by the choices we make in our lives. In other words, the way we live our lives on earth will determine the nature of our existence after death. In conclusion, the fractal nature of the soul means that our destinies are shaped by our characters, which are in turn shaped by the individual parts of our soul. By nourishing each part of our soul through acts of kindness, generosity, and compassion, we can contribute to the well-being of the whole, and in turn, shape our own destiny for the better. As Jesus says in Matthew 6:33, "But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." By living a life of righteousness, we can shape our own destiny and contribute to the greater good.

Speaking of patterns that exhibit self-similarity at different scales, if we think about it mathematically, and since truths are fractal, the same happens with falsities, which is why I wonder if the rise if AI will worsen the spiritual (ego v. Jesus) "warfare" before the calm settles down.

The concept of the Central Universe is explored in a free online book called the Revelatorium. It actually describes the Immaculate Concept as 4 code functions, and each has a unique functionality. Those 4 code functions is further subdivided by 12 as the cosmic clock, which is also observed as astrological enforced evolution. Going from Logos, to Monad, to Soul, to Ovarian Whole Soul Atom, To Ovarian Atom, to personal personality (ego, astrologically enforced) to literally the result of the meiosis and mitosis which produced you as a genetic entity.

In your most-watched show "What Happens Immediately After You Die" you report that Swedenborg reported that absolutely everybody will be chaperoned with Angles into the afterlife and the death process or the introduction of the afterlife will be absolutely great, beautiful and loving. But I still can't explain myself how Swedenborg would explain negative NDEs. My last idea was that God wants to show us hell and then tell the individual that this is the worst place they can end up in. BUT there are also people, as you described, who want to live in hell. So, one: does God see that he could help the individual in showing him/her hell to convince him/her to end up in heaven? But does he even adress this or does he even talk about it at all? And two, Jürgen Ziewe says that, like, nobody wants to live in (he doesn't call it) hell (he calls it "lower spiritual realms"). He actually helped a woman to get outta there because she didn't know where she was and she wanted just to be somewhere else. Somewhere more pleasent. But there's really nobody who wants to live in hell. Or is hell, in what Swedenborg learned, just a "average" place with people who want to do harmful things? 🤔 Oh, and yeah, I didn't see the video about hell yet, imma do it tomorrow! I'd love to here your answers!😉

Hi Silbersittich -- I see KZbin is now using handles instead of usernames, but I think I'm talking to Silbersittich, right? Anyway, great question. Chara here, without a firm answer, but happy to share some thoughts that come up in response to your question. Swedenborg doesn't address the concept of the NDE at all. He just describes the spiritual world as he experienced it, given the gift of spending conscious time there while he was still alive. But it seems to me that an NDE (for those who have them) is just another avenue (though a very powerful one, granted!) for gaining inspiration for one's spiritual journey. Swedenborg asserts that God is carefully leading everyone on an individual journey, providing what they need for optimal spiritual growth. So if someone has a negative NDE, I guess that kind of experience is just what they need to bring awareness to their spiritual choices, or something like that? I don't know -- it just seems likely to me. As for anyone WANTING to live in hell: One of Swedenborg's main points is that God values our spiritual freedom more than anything else. God doesn't aim to "convince" anyone, but is always pulling people toward heaven as much as they allow themselves to be pulled -- because a free choice is the only thing that makes sense. Otherwise, we're just little heaven robots. So the point is that some people don't WANT to be around people who live in a constant state of altruism and goodwill and looking for Divine truth. Some people prefer to feel like their concept of the world is the best one, their ideas are the right-est, their power and comfort is their priority. And if that's what TRULY motivates their whole life, then hell is the place for them, where they can live in that kind of mindset. It isn't a place where everything is burning and smelling like sulphur -- those traditionally-held features of hell are SYMBOLIC of the self-love and arrogance that run rampant in hell. So like you said, the way Swedenborg describes it mostly sounds like an "average" place where people want to do self-centered things that don't consider the welfare and well-being and happiness of others. And the other point that Swedenborg asserts is that we CHOOSE our eternal home. We aren't sent anywhere against our will. After we die, says Swedenborg, we have a chance to let go of some of the earthly influences on us, and go through a process of deep self-discovery, purification, and education -- and when we are totally clear about who we truly are, our own heart leads us to our eternal home, to where we WANT to be, to where we can breathe. Swedenborg encountered inhabitants of hell, which suggests that some people DO make that choice. It's a free choice, and it's not made until the person is "all one thing," so to speak. So in that kind of set-up, hell seems like a merciful option, not a punishment. But even followers of Swedenborg debate about how hell works, given an all-loving God. So... there are some points to ponder!

I don't know about that, Thadius. I mean, Earth is on the physical level, and the heavens are on the spiritual level. But Swedenborg does talk about "the spiritual London" or various other cities -- so perhaps there are heavenly equivalents of much of earth's features. Also, there seems to be some connection between those of us still on earth and our loved ones in the spiritual world -- but how that would play out in terms of joining them on vacations from the other side, Swedenborg doesn't talk about!

Well put! Hence the snake and the staff and the lepros hand. We think that we are life forms that are powerless and given a hard time by fate. The part of us that is ruled by fate is Adam which is the seperated self thought. The soul is connected to Heaven. Like Jacobs sheep, we take in what we see and reflect it. It then becomes real to us because we see it. The mind has a thought given by Adam and the thought will try to show itself to you as real. This is Egypt. The soul gives you the truth which you see as inspiration. When the two thoughts conflict, you get the plagues. Often you back down to create peace. To appease. The world does not change. If someone changes his mind to focus on truth and that thought projects outwardly, the mandlebrot set changes in appearance. It reflects itself. God reflects himself in heaven. We are the reflector of God from a single view point. Like a water molecule in a cloud. Brought together, the reflectors create an image of the whole. An artist stands back from the canvas to see how the image is developing. We try to change the refection itself rather than change the emiting light creating the reflection. You cannot mold see water. You can alter what it reflects.

Hi skydreams -- Chara here, one of the Comment Response team. I have to admit I know almost nothing about astrology and definitely nothing about our astrological body. Sounds like you see some meaning in the parallel, though! My view of what our "use" in the world is, is way beyond our occupation or job description. It is WHO WE ARE, the effect we have on people, whatever goodness we are trying to promote in the world in whatever way that happens. God created us to be here on earth, until it's time to move on, so we can rest assured that we are serving a use in being here as long as we still ARE here! Thoughts?

In the other world, Thadius, "Thought brings presence and love brings union," says Swedenborg. So to me, that says that if your heart wants to see your relatives you will be able to do so! Also, Swedenborg does report that there are celebrities that many people want to see. That, too, would be governed by the two "Laws" of the spiritual world, it seems to me: love and usefulness. If there is a mutual desire/willingness, and a purpose to be served, it is possible!

Are there churches in the afterlife? Will we still have religion?
@offTheLeftEye
@offTheLeftEye Жыл бұрын
Great question, Jordan. I'm looking at Swedenborg's book "Heaven and Hell," which has a short chapter called "Divine Worship in Heaven." He writes that there are churches in heaven, and people listen to sermons, etc., because angels (= people) are ALWAYS learning and growing and being perfected in wisdom and love. He doesn't mention any specific denominations, but falls back on one of his key statements that says "Religion is all about how we live, and the religious way to live is to do good." (That's a quote from his book called 'Teachings about Life.') Here's a quote from 'Heaven and Hell' after talking about how people do go to church there: "However, the essential divine worship in the heavens does not consist of going to church regularly and listening to sermons but of a life of love, thoughtfulness, and faith in keeping with doctrine. The sermons in church serve only as means of instruction in how to live." In the last paragraph of the chapter, he writes, "All the doctrines that govern the preaching focus on life as their end." And finally, "The essential of all the doctrines is the recognition of the Lord's divine human." So there are a few things to think about!

RainbowDragons -- As Curtis said, there are as many heavens as there are people, because everyone has a slightly different experience of it all, even if they have shared beliefs. Heaven is love and faith working together, and that can take on an infinite number of expressions. But it's all heaven if it's all based on loving God and loving the neighbor!
