To all those comparing the game to Dreadnaught, it's a game in space with capital ships that blow each other up, that's where the similarity ends. The mechanics of both the game mode and ship combat is vastly different. Fractured Space is more strategic in that you have to fight for control of different sectors and gain access to the enemy base, whereas Dreadnaught is currently a Team Deathmatch/Elimination where the only objective is to kill more than you die. I've also seen it called a MOBA, but it breaks the mould of games like League of Legends, DOTA and the like. It's in third person rather than top down and a good aim is essential to success. It is slower, you'll find the movement odd for a while until you start to understand the depth of the game and the options you have available. It's a unique game, whether that's a good thing or a bad thing you'll have to figure out yourself, but it's free to play with a fair monetization model, great visuals and tactical depth. I hope that if you try it out you'll see what I have seen in this game.

why are they, just now, marketing this? i played this months ago, and no one was ever on the servers.. I jumped on a few weeks ago to introduce a friend to it.. we were the only 2 on the game. like seriously? will this game ever have a solid player base?

The game was in early access and open development from the inception of creation, though it was available to play it was not ready to be released and marketed. The benefit of Open Development means that the community who played the game have been able to discuss and essentially assist in the design. FS is now coming out of early access and so this is the marketing drive that is needed to boost the games population and see if it sticks.

Both games are 5vs5 in giant spaceships - and already that's pretty much where the similarities end. Dreadnought is a fun, fast-paced team-deathmatch experience; Fractured Space on the other hand is less about twitch reflexes and more about strategic, objective focused gameplay. If you wanted to simplify it, you could say Dreadnought is Call Of Duty in Spaceships, and Fractured Space is League of Legends in Spaceships. I do actually enjoy both games quite a lot, but not because they are similar, but because they offer vastly different experiences. Dreadnought is my quick TDM fix, whereas Fractured Space is my current game for more strategic challenge.

If you found Dreadnought to be a "boring shooter", Fractured Space might actually be something you might wanna check out. Because it's explicitly not just a "Brawler" / Team Deathmach. FS is objective focused, and incorporates a couple of MOBA-ish elements, like separate lanes, "hero" (ship) selection at the start of a match, hero upgrade during the course of the match, increasing respawn times, etc. While matches of newer players might often look a bit chaotic (they have brand new space lazors, of course they will focus on shooting each other), the game requires trategy and teamwork to master. It is also setup in a way that makes your actions really count, and o the flipside it makes your mistakes really hurt (more the longer a match lasts). If you actually like the gameplay is subjective, all I can say is that Fractured Space is definitely NOT "another boring shooter like Deadnought".
