this hurts twice as much after the empire's finale :'( The last refrain makes me think about Jimmy after leaving his empire heading to check in on Scott and finding his body. That's why he has a poppy in his hands because he was going to give it to him as a gift, and why he's afraid to touch him again. I'd also like to think that the poppies in your hair is referring to a small funeral Jimmy would hold for him and it would also explain the maybe I'll love again line. (ps i know the song was written before the finale, I'm just looking at it from a new point of view)

this is amazing! some may call me biased because of how huge of a flower husbands fan i am, but i truly mean it. youve created a perfect portrayal of their story, with an incredible voice to help put it on display. and i love how you incorporate the seasons into your refrain- it shows in a very poetic and emotional way how they are growing more and more distant as the time passes. bravo!

I was reading a FH fic, and all of a sudden I remembered the "Just for today, let's pretend there isn't a war at our doorstep" Line, but I didn't remember where it was from. I spent like 10 minutes looking the line up and for some reason I was 90% sure it was a Crane Wives song lyric. This whole situation is the proof that this song is amazing. It really gives off the same feeling as some Crane Wives songs, which is a massive compliment. Good job.

Okay, i don’t rlly know much abt song writing but the lyrics to this are absolutely awesome! My favorite parts are the changes from “Gentle kisses on a summer evening” to “Gentle kisses on a fall evening” to “Gentle kisses on a winter evening”, it’s just absolutely genius??? As well as the changes from “You seem scared, you seem scared” to “You’d be scared, you’d be scared” to “I’m real scared, i’m real scared” and “You hold me closer to your chest” to “I hold you closer to my chest” to “I hold you closer to my heart”, it really illustrated the changes and the events that happened throughout 3rd life and empires!! I just found it rlly cool when i noticed it and wanted to point it out! Of course your singing is also absolutely wonderful!! You have a lot of skill in both singing and song-writing!! I hope more people find this because this is honestly such a hidden gem!
