When Aaron reviewed Reflection Man a year ago he had nothing but great things to say about the fragrance and said it was definitely something he would wear rating it a 10/10. In this blind review he says it’s boring and something he wouldn’t wear. I wonder if keeping the company and fragrance name hidden before he smells it also removes the bias as well??

The bit I find fascinating is when Aaron tries to describe the scent profile with his hands! He so clearly sees something in his mind whilst he smells the scent and assimilates his thoughts, but with scent being subjective, its amazing to see him use his hand motions to try to explain what's going on in his mind. So cool.

After I started becoming more familiar with raw materials and the larger industry, I can't say that I didn't feel the same kind of disillusionment Aaron expounded on at 43:06. Brands labelled as luxury have always been suspected of taking the piss to some degree, but when the degree suddenly becomes more tangible, it's a recipe for anger and disappointment. Stepping stones to overcome on the journey. There's still a great deal to appreciate in the craft, despite having a cherished fantasy bubble burst by perspective. The irony is, that the mind is always grasping for new fantasies in a desperate drive towards justification, appeasement and complacency. 😄The difference is that our hold becomes weaker and more ambivalent with time until uncertainty can be comfortably managed. Never an easy transition. 🌎

It's amazing how much you can already know about perfumery just from having knowledge of cannabis. Linalool is a terpenoid or terpene that smells like lavender, it's also found in cannabis. Along eith lavender aswell. Limonene is found in lemons and cannabis too. Limonene smells like lemons. I would like to see a fragrance made with with beta myrcene another terpene found in cannabis along eith hops aswell. Your beer has beta myrcene witch can give it a sweet almost skunky flavor and also helps relax you. Thats why beer and whiskey are more relaxing than clear spirits like vodka or gin because they have beta myrcene in them. That would make a fragrance actually smell like cannabis.
