There's a citrus in Yucatán México called Lima Yucateca, looks like a lemon but green, you can do lemonade that taste as if its made of Earl Grey tea, so refreshing and delicious! Great video, thanks for sharing Ashley!!

I’m excited for this new series! It was especially interesting to learn the compounds each of the citruses share with other plant materials, it sheds light on why they’re reminiscent of certain other scents or commonly combined with those materials.

I love lemon and bergamot best. That's so interesting with the lemon/pine and bergamot/lavender commonalities, I love those aromatics and it makes so much sense !

Very interesting video Ashley. Hope to see more of these. One of my favourite citruses in fragrance is Mandarin, but orange and grapefruit are up there too. New hairstyle is a win by the way 👍

Very interesting series! I'm really looking forward to more families! As for bergamot, yes, the fruit itself is very hard to come by, but you can very easily become acquainted with the smell if you just buy some earl grey tea.
@ashleyinparisvideos Жыл бұрын
Yes! That is a very good point. Early grey tea is a great reference point for bergamot.

I love the Chemistry information! When you said Organic Chemistry class, were you referring to a class in your perfumery syllabus?
@ashleyinparisvideos Жыл бұрын
It was actually in my regular ochem class during undergrad! We also had a lab where we synthesized fruity smelling esters. It was super cool

What about Bergamotte ? Isnt that related to Lime .?
@ashleyinparisvideos Жыл бұрын
While both are in the Rutaceae family, the smell of bergamot is closer to a mix between lavender and orange than to a lime. This is true even of green bergamot which is sometimes visually mistaken for combava (also known as kaffir lime), but their odors are ultimately different. As another commenter mentioned, Early Grey tea is a nice reference point for bergamot. Hope that helps!
