When I started to watch the video, I was expecting you to say traditional frame sliders are better, and you said it with correct reason. I had my Duke fall once in ktm orange day, it bent gradually and saved the bike.

One hour after installing the rizoma frame slider on my rc390, i pulled my stand and got down from the bike as the stand was not fully released (i pulled the stand and it went back) i did not notice it and my rc 390 dropped on the ground. Happened so fast i couldn't catch the handlebar in time. Damages : 1. gear box got scratched 2. Clutch lever broke 3. The frame slider BENT THE FRAME :( Now im here searching for videos regarding this. Very first drop and it was very amateur. :(

I agree to what you said. But frame slilders bending the frame is also a half baked urban myth. It is completely true in case of an ill designed product. However, Frame Sliders are not just some rod and some base block with 2 holes as many think. There is a lot of engineering, material selection, right design etc goes into making one. Frame Sliders, if designed properly, they will be very strong at low speed crashes or stand still falls, and they will break away during a high end crash. Sadly not many knows enginering behind it and makes such products, which causes people to generalize that Frame Sliders are BAD. The top sliding portion, middle shaft, base block and even bolts needs to be of the right material if they have to be collectively effective. I have many examples of high speed crashes, yet there is Zero impact on any part of the bike including chassis. Most of the times, the bolts gave away and bent in ordr to accomodate the inertia. However, i all depends on the speed, type of crash, impact area, road conditions and many variables. It is impossible to conclude that it will definitely do harm to your chassis. In a nutshell "Ill designed Frame Sliders can do more harm than not having them. But a properly designed product will definitely save a lot on the long run"

What Would you suggest, stock guard or the aftermarket crash guard? Not the frame sliders. The big one, like the one in the royal Enfield bikes, like the touring guards.

I thought frame sliders, on heavy impact, are supposed to break away and absorb all the force, saving the actual frame. I am recently seeing a lot of people attaching frame sliders on top of crash guards, which then gets mounted to the bike frame, this I think is a better option, even if it doesn't break, it would transfer the force to the crash guards and then to the frame.

The chances that a frame slider warping or bending the frame are nil. Most if not all sliders are made with delcron or other material that is designed to disintegrate or shatter at high impact. Check the bike damage reports. Your assumption is that the slider will transmit the force at high impact, but it does not.

Hi there ! Thanks for all the content you make , I just wanted to ask a thing .. that according to me , I have some problem in applying the rear brakes on a sports bike like KTM RC 200/390 or for that matter on any rear set foot pegs , it's like I have to always use that heel support on the right foot while other guys don't do that , is there any way to make my braking more easier . It's like I feel really comfortable with that racing dedicated posture but braking is a problem. Kindly drop a word. Thanks

If your frame bends before slider does, then it's shit slider (or frame is weak). It's true tho that slider can make bike flip more easily, especially the knob style slider like you have, as they can catch on things easily. More flat ones, like ones from T-Rex, are bit better in that regard.

If a bike met an accident like rc390 With frame slides on it at a very high speed results in bending the frame... Then my question is this type of damage happened due to frame slider can be covered under your full comprehensive insurance ?? Or it can create problems in claim process...as its not a stock thing in bike..

Bro its is not partial wrong, sliders protect you also in case of fall example on the lower ground whete you feet does not touch or some one hits you. You are being prrotected. I have fall down several occasions, i have been protect from injury.
