I met Fran at the Bottom Line in NYC in the early 90's. She was my idol and I made an ass of myself. But I did get to shake her hand. Surprisingly, her hand was soft, And warm and gentle. And she didn't make me feel stupid.

I believe that. She seems like a gentle soul to me. Her insights are fresh and yet nothing extraordinary. By that I mean, I think she's right about a lot of things. She is not a radical.

I think watching her you’d get the impression she were mean and edgy or really rough and intimidating. But I agree I think she’s actually nice, values good manners and is a soft person. Her younger interviews she’s very quiet. She seems actually really kind and gentle.
