Thanks for sharing your journey, I think you're brave going without pre booking for the sites down to your main destination, but perhaps that's because we have always camped before (caravan on it's way) and wasn't so much of an option even using a quick put up one for overnights. Agree totally with your review of the Baie de la Somme Aire, we have stopped a few times when using the Chunnel to cross, it was always so much more than just a motorway service station! Also the sunflowers have over the years been something to look forward to and some fields just seem to go on and on!

Thank you, We have never had a problem and enjoy the unknown of where we are going to stop and the varied sites we stop at on the way down, good and sometimes not so good. Thank you. The weather was very changeable on the way down. We are currently on our main site in the south, and the weather is a lot better now, 30 to 35 deg. We will be heading back north on Saturday. Thanks for watching and commenting. Happy Camping James

Hi, nice video as always. I love the way it seems that you don't really do any pre booking for the sites down to your main destination. I would be happy doing that but think the other half would not be, even tho the sites look empty. Can i ask what the engine of your car is as it looks like it pulls your van with such ease. looking forward to the next video. all the best still cant believe you only have the number of subscribers you do, you deserve so many more, then again steve

Hi, thank you. No, no prebooking is done unless we want to be in a specific area. It's really easy. We just travel until we want to stop, go on the ACSI app, and see what is available in the area. Give them a calm and head over there. We have only found one that has been full, and another one that would not take us because we are a twin axle. That wasn't a problem, though, because there is always another site close by. The engine in the car is a 3L 6 cylinder. It has loads of torque, so dies tow the caravan with ease. However, the downside is that I have only averaged 18 miles to the gallon on the way down here. We are still on the main site at the moment until Saturday and plan to stop at Euro Disney on the way home. So, I probably won't get a chance to edit more vlogs until back in the UK next week. So hope you don't mind waiting. Thank you for the kind words about our channel. To be fair, I never expected tonget as may subs as we have. I only started it as something I could carry on doing.with the Caravan during lockdown. Thanks again for watching and commenting. Happy Camping. James

@@CaravanEscapades101 This year france is out the window for us but next year definitely want to go, i love driving abroad. wow 18 mpg, i hate looking at my dash when i have the van on and it says avg 28 mpg. Just watched your latest video, and now just have to wait again for the next lol. In a way lockdown created so many new hobbies / businesses even the person that could not hammer a nail in straight started diy lol. Well i'm sure that you will get more subscribers. all the best to you James

@@stehume That's a shame but at least you have next year to look forward to. I love driving abroad as well, it seems so much more relaxed. Oh How I wish I got 28mpg, I only get about that without the caravan on. At least the tank is 100 Litre so I don't have to fill up as often. I will try and get the Next France Video Edited an out this weekend. Thanks again for watching James

Hi James, great video, I loved your drive around the Le Mans circuit. Can i ask, do you carry a spare 25m hook up cable, as I saw you had to extend your hook up at one site? We are off to France later this month and wondered if I need to carry a spare. Looking forward to your next vlog 👍

Hi, thank you. It was a great experience. Funnily enough, when in the UK, I carry a 25m hook up cabe and a 10m cable. However, when we come to France, I take out the 10m to save on weight and just carry the 25m. Which has always been fine. On the last sight, we stopped off before getting here the cable only just reached, and I had to move the caravan a couple of feet so it would reach. The only other rhingbi carry is the adaptor for the standard euro 2 pin plug, which we have had a couple of times and a small converter cable should the supply be reverse polarity. Hope that helps.
