I don't know what goes on in the cancer that 4chan and Reddit but the majority I have seen from YT comments are how people are disappointed that you let a bully mentally abuse/berate you and then have you turn around and make excuses for her. THAT is why we are upset and it seems by your 3rd video now you still don't understand that. WE expect you to treat Anita with respect and be nice to her because that is who YOU are and NO ONE has a problem with that. She talked down to you and was creating an abusive environment and was flat out being a crybully because she didn't get her way. Then didn't want a picture with you for whatever egotistical reason she had. You took it on the chin and didn't fight and showed patience which is admirable. Then you decided to cover for her behavior instead of saying what it was which was harassment and we aren't gonna stand for it. Boogie You have been at the very fucking bottom and you have brought yourself back up with help from your lovely wife, multiple friends, Sammy, and the great passionate fanbase you have. Yet, you revert back to your mental trama and make excuses for your aggressor out of fear of backlash from her and her fanbase. You don't have to "pick a side" or anything but you should stand up against abusers like this in a respected way and let the people who do and don't know you know that this kind of treatment towards your fellow man is NOT OKAY. Unless the comment section on the last two videos went a completely different direction after the last time I looked at them, I actually saw very few people mad that Boogie was nice to Anita. What I did see was people upset that he continued to defend her in his videos despite all the awful shit she did. The overwhelming majority of the negative reactions to his videos has nothing to do with how he acted at VidCon, and everything to do with how he's been acting in his videos since then, and I think there's plenty of legitimate criticism to be made of his defense of a VidCon endorsed bully and his either refusal or inability to acknowledge that he's defending a bully, effectively normalizing a common and self damaging response of victims of harassment. I love Boogie, but I personally think he's in the wrong when he tries to defend what she did.

There is a difference between treating someone with the respect you think they deserve/how you want to be treated and completely cowering to them because they might get mad at you. You either stand up for yourself, or you don't. There's no middle ground here. No adult is suggesting that you treat Anita (or anyone else) like garbage. I understand what people wanted to have happen; I understand the person people wanted Boogie to be in that situation; and I understand that's just not who he is and, if we're all very lucky, he never will be. As I said in his second video, I'm certainly no fan of Anita's and I know if it had been me in that situation it would have been a very different narrative, but I respect the fact that Boogie isn't that type of person and he had the strength and perseverance to be true to himself. I'd rather deal with my own darkness, my own cynicism and know that there are people out there who try to see past all that than have someone of that caliber resort to the level of someone like Anita and try to beat her at her own game.

Firstly the level of harassment Boogie has experienced in the past dwarfs anything Anita has experienced, and that destroyed her narrative of "it's always worst for women". And Anita suggesting that Boogie reframes his experience from being as a "cis white male" into being as an "obese person" just confirms this. Secondly I think a lot of Boogie's fans are seeing his apology post like a woman with a black eye saying "It's my fault, I really should have had his dinner ready when I got home." Justifying the actions of an abuser just allows the abuses to continue and spread.

Great rant. I totally get how you don't want to get involved in the politics. I hope Francis helps as some sort of outlet to your frustration. There's just a lot of us out there worried about how our freedom of speech is under attack. I'm Hispanic but my son looks white. I'm afraid of what's happening in our colleges and society overall. I'm afraid he will be accused of sexual harassment because he told a girl she looks pretty, I don't want him being prevented from going to class because it's "no whites day". I don't want him being accused of harassment because he is in the same room with someone that doesn't like him. At the same time I don't want my daughters growing up thinking that they didn't get a job because they are "brown", don't get paid enough because they are female, or that no matter what they do there's this oppressive invisible force that always will put them down. I'm also extremely anti bully. Bullies don't just hit and insult but they can also control environment and people within an environment. For example a bully can get everyone to ignore you making feel rejected and depressed. What Anita did was got on an unprofessional rant violating Vidcon's code of conduct but then manipulated the people and environment in her favor. The second panel had different rules as the first and she even got an apology from Vidcon. She used her Privilege to start drama, get her way, and somebody else to take the blame for the drama she started. Anita is cancer and unfortunately cancer spreads and you got some of damage. No matter what you do or which side you choose even if it's the neutral side you will get shit for it. Try not to take it personal there's always shit heads in every group.

Why do people blame boogie over the anita thing if his anxiety was the thing that actually got the best of him? anita was not trying to actively scare boogie at the panel, but rather his fear of confrontation scared him, and that's totally understandable, and he went out of his way to be open and honest to us about that. By no means am I trying to justify any of Anita's actions, but in this single event the only thing she did is she caught Boogie while he was off-guard at the end of the panel and expressed that she didn't like Boogie's final statement. However, as soon as she realized he had meant no harm, she was willing to be open and talk to him about it for fifteen minutes. How exactly is Boogie pandering to anita in this case? Again Boogie, no one talks about picking a side. It wasn't about the panel (where I thought you pushed back well against the "privilege ladders of bullying victims"). We know your anxiety and especially in regards to women. We just imagined you could talk a bit more freely in your video made at home, to give women like Anita a look into your experience without being apologetic about it. Instead of focusing on a message of bravery (which I thought you were showing up at the panel) and unity in facing severe bullying, you spent so much time trying to ensure you really was accommodating her. It made me feel terrible and reminded me of bullying and anxiety attacks. Jacob Buchanan Thing is he would have been nervous either way, anxiety makes you think even neutral situations are dangerous. I agree didn't need to defend anita as much as he did but he felt it was appropriate to do so taking in mind that she has suffered a lot of harassment, death threats and bullying. Even if she's a raging hypocrite (and I've seen it more than once) he took the high road to continuing to practice what he preaches, being tolerant and as understanding as he can be in hope they will treat others that way. It may not have worked out that well with Anita but he stuck to his guns and did it despite all the fear of confrontations. I personally admire him for that (and many other things). As someone with severe anxiety I think being on that panel was brave, being on it with Anita was even braver, and finally not slagging her off and sticking to what he was preaching in the panel shows his back bone. People may disagree with it or have hang ups but at the end of the day it was him who was there having to go through it and process something that most people with any anxiety disorders would-be trying to find ANY reason not to do. I think no matter how many times Boogie openly talks about his anxiety, a lot of the audience doesn't really get it. Watch the H3 Podcast he recorded at vidcon. At around 31:30, Ethan tells Boogie, "I think you're always looking for ways to make yourself feel bad" and he laughed and agreed, saying "oh, that's me in a nutshell". Add that to the fact that Anita Sarkeesian eating lunch can end in a 5-way flame war and that people are just waiting with shit to fling when her name pops up, and no kidding Boogie was about to have a breakdown just talking about this. I think in that first video he desperately wanted everyone to be happy, everyone to be calm, and for it to just go away. With how he is, he ended up going too far on the side of wanting people who like Anita to be chill, finding those ways to make himself feel bad. There is an irony to someone with an anxiety disorder being praised for telling us about it and being heavily criticized when we can actually see it. He admitted that video didn't turn out well, and since then he's made it clear he doesn't want to bash Anita, he just wants to keep being nice in the face of rudeness. If you have issues with them take it up with whichever one you don't like (until Anita Sarkeesian blocks you). But stop treating him like a Nazi sympathizer for no reason just because he didn't act like a dick to ________. I don't blame him for getting pissed during this video. He didn't go to Vidcon for the same reason that Anita Sarkeesian or Sargon of Akkad did. He went to have fun and share his personal experiences. Anita went to be a victim and Sargon went to hear the opinions of people he disagrees with, but Boogie isn't required to take a side. Some people want to just talk about what they like and don't want to join a specific side. Boogie is Sweden. Stop acting like being Sweden makes him as evil as whatever person you dislike. Again, stop taking your aggression out on someone who didn't do anything wrong. Go after the person you dislike and only the person you dislike. Or even go after people who are taking sides.

Garbage human there's nothing wrong with anyone telling Anita that. But Boogie has chosen not to. Regardless of what I think about that I understand why Boogie would want to give into his anxiety and not want to create more problems for himself before the surgery he's had planned. If you want to go after Anita, by all means do it. I would if she didn't have me blocked on twitter. But you can't expect someone else to live by the decisions you would have made in that situation, and he shouldn't be bullied into going against his decision. I'm not saying you're bullying him or that everyone is, but there are a few comments that are getting pretty close to bullying, if not already crossing that line.

Phantom Bigboss Boogie has also said that. Sort of. He admitted to be a coward mainly due to anxiety. Regardless if you don't like the way he does things, the simple fix is to stop watching his channel. He doesn't owe anyone anymore of an explanation than he's already given though.

Many people are saying "were angry because you didn't stand up for yourself" he did but in a really calm and controlled way. When you have anxiety it can be really hard at the best of times to 'stand up for yourself' because conflict causes your anxiety to rocket. But as i said he went and spoke with Anita in the green room after she had her little tantrum and explained his points in a more controlled way. Not every standing your ground situation has to be shouting and abuse. Boogie she was out of order and I'm sorry you had to deal with a gobby mare who thinks her opinions are the only valid ones. You did brilliantly and fair play to you for even sitting there and still doing it because anxiety is not a walk in the park. lots of love ♡♡♡♡♡♡
