I think this bike could be huge for the casual triathlon market. The ability to add the Speedmax TT cockpit to a 1 piece carbon bar is a game changer IMO.

Yes, that is exactly what makes me excited about this bike! I want a bike which is usable for normal riding on the street, but it can also be used in tri races. Many triathletes only use the tt bike for the races. While it isn't as fast as an tt bike, you'll be awfully close with this one.

I bought myself the previous Canyon Aeroad CF SLX 8 10 months ago. Living in germany, canyon is a pretty dominant brand here - about 1 in 10 roadbikes is a canyon here. Together with Rose another german brand, they are most seen around here. The reason for this is simple. The products are very well developed and relativly cheap in the premium sector. They offer a wide range, so any rider type will find something for them. But this comes with a downside as some already pointed out. They try their best to be close to the customer and support their buying decision. You can go try out any bike of them in their factory outlet in Koblenz no matter the price or what you look like. They sponsor many events in germany and always have products to try out and fall in love with - but once you bought their products their after sales is kind of trash. Support, replacements and guarantee handling is always slow and icky. It is said, their support can't handle the volume. They say that now for 4 years since covid striked. The biggest downside I see with the new itteration of products, is their pricing strategy. They kept the prices of their top end products almost the same, but the medium range products like the Aeroad cf slx 8 here, got a hefty raise. I bought mine 10 months ago, for about 5300€. The new model is 7000€! Almost 2k more, for a refined but not revolutionary product. This is way too much for the young adults in their 20s who typically ride this bike. For people in their mid 20s making 35-55k a year, this is just insane. I guess, its not meant for them anymore

I’d love a Canyon. Went to buy one a year or two ago but abruptly failed when I put in my address in Northern Ireland. Turns out that due to Brexit they don’t ship here (yes, that’s right, that thing that happened ages ago). My hard earned cash went to Giant instead. Pretty poor for a company trumpeting how good they are to consumers & can ship to the other side of the world. Below from Canyon website re NI delivery. A TLDR version is that they said in 2021 it would take a short time to get their systems set up to deliver to NI… “The good news is we have now restarted shipments for our full portfolio of bikes and accessories to the UK. We are excited to announce that as of Tuesday the 23rd of February 2021 we can now take orders and are shipping ebikes to the UK once more. We have extensive experience in shipping bikes all over the world and will only have to make small changes. This means the purchasing process through Canyon after Brexit is unchanged to you, the customer, as we handle everything needed to ensure your Canyon order arrives swiftly and safely. The conditions on shipping to Northern Ireland are now different to mainland UK. This means we need to undertake additional systems changes to ensure we can ship bikes to Northern Ireland correctly. Unfortunately, this does mean that for a short time we will be unable to receive orders for shipment to Northern Ireland. We are working on completing these changes as soon as possible and once we have more information on when we will be able to continue transactions with Northern Ireland, we will post them here. As an alternative, a delivery to Ireland and Great Britain is still possible.”

I think the new steerer tube area looks a lot better too. The previous version looked small and didn’t fit with the wide aero frame.

Have you all reviewed the Endurace yet? I don't think you have, but I could have missed it.. I'd love to know if the new Endurace has the same bar set-up with the spacers and width.. also, would be interested in your thoughts on comparing the two, understanding they are for two different purposes.. thanks and, as always, great video!!

With the hidden through axle does this mean I can’t use my wahoo kickr core any more???

I've been looking for a second bike to use for shorter rides around town where I want to go all out and get some PRs/KOMs and seriously considering this bike. I use a Trek Domane for longer rides due to the comfort of the bike. I wish we had the ability to try these bikes in a store to see how they feel. Plus Canyon saying I need an XS scares me because Trek says I should ride a 54 but I prefer a 52. The adjustability of this bike is freakin awesome though. Being able to slam the stem and go back to a higher stem in a matter of minutes without having to cut the fork is mind-boggling.

The Canyon sizing does run small, so the XS recommendation is not surprising. Talk it over with Canyon customer support if you are concerned - as a consumer direct brand, they are used to these sorts of questions

Where do you get 25mm max from ? I have the previous previous gen aeroad and the clearance is 30mm

@@JosephNieto-o8r I had a rim brake version but the rear tyre clearance was tight at 25mm

I’ve bought one now and it’s fantastic. 6 foot tall and got a small, the medium Ultimate is too big for me, this fits lovely.

doesnt covering up the through axle holes mean that you will not be able to use it on most indoor trainers? At least not the cheaper ones?

Probably. But I imagine most people with £6k bikes are running fairly fancy turbos too.

You can purchase oyher bottle cages with the bike, and to be fair the bottle cages on your exemplar state very clearly they are designed for the canyon bottles!

Eight years ago, the last time I bought a new bike that came in a box, the local bike shop built it for me for $100. At least I'm pretty sure that's what I paid. May have been $150, but no more than that. Anyway, that bike looks awesome. More than I'd ever pay for a bike, but it is nice.

Could you review the new endurace CF 7 with 105 and DT-SWISS wheels. This is the best bang for your buck in the endurace lineup. Being a beginner cycler, I want a to buy a new bike after 2 years and I am waiting for them to release the new version at the end of this year
