This is the first time rewatching this clip that I took in that Claire recalled a particular Scot who was “a piper in the Sea Force with a strong dislike of needles” (eg. Royal Navy or the British equivalent of the Coast Guard or the Merchant Marine) when Frank asked if she had treated a Scottish highlander. I wonder if this Scottish fellow with “a strong dislike of needles” could have been Jamie Fraser (who she has yet to have met) reincarnated after death. Jamie in subsequent episodes also had a strong dislike of needles and later experienced strong visions of Claire’s time in the 20th century. This was the night before she disappeared into the Jacobite past via the stones. Maybe he lived for a short time in her proper time as this wounded soldier whom Claire treated as a WWII nurse. Certainly the Sea Forces piper made a strong impression on her, since she remembered quite a bit about him. Maybe after she traveled back into the past and first met Jamie with the dislocated arm about to be set the wrong way by his MacKenzie war colleagues, he might have borne a resemblance to the wounded sailor she treated in the 20th century. Maybe they were one and the same person. Perhaps those Outlander fans who suggest their relationship is a continuous time loop are correct.

This definitely reminds me of the scene in the movie "Sahara" where Brooke Shields is combing her hair or on the balcony and Jafer watches her from the ground. It's really beautiful. ❤ Cannot describe in words how much I absolutely love the character of Frank.
In this scene it appears as if Frank himself, with all his justifications for wartime affairs, is on the verge of a confession, but Claire's indignation hushes him up in time. 😅
