The problem here is the assumption that both the left and the right are EQUALLY biased. That they both lie. They don't. Fox and its ilk are nearly entirely to blame, along with trump and his obscene gop political afterbirth that's still at it.

My grandfather once met Frank in 1972. He used to work on the docks for him after he got out of the navy. He decided one day he didn’t wanna work there anymore and go back to college. So, he told his boss he wanted to quit. His boss told him he needed permission first from Frank. So, he called up Frank and Frank told him to meet him at his house. When he walked in, he said it looked exactly like the Corleone compound from the Godfather. He met with Frank and he was asked why he wanted to leave. After he explained it to him, Frank told him he understood and that if he ever needed anything to call him and it would be taken care of. Frank died the next year.

@@chuchorodriguez1893 you guys don't know history of how this thing all played out with Frank Costello. Frank Costello was the most underrated and one of best bosses the Mob of the had. It was under his backing that you got Las Vegas and Cuba Gambling. Vito Genovese only made the move on Frank Costello because the government weakened his position. When the boss is under indictment that's the most dangerous time for a boss because you cannot fight a war at that time. When John Gotti made the move on Paul Castellano, he was under indictment for the commission case. Vito Genovese used to be the under boss of that family, when he came back from Italy, Costello kept him down as a captain. Vito was mad. Frank Costello goes to jail for 2 years but he has so many connections with judges that he was let out early and that's when real Genovese made his move. He know Frank had enough juice to beat the charges. Plus Vito Genovese did Costello a favor, by attacking him he removed all the heat from Frank and transferred it to himself. Frank died in his bed, Vito was only boss for a couple years and died in prison. On paper he was a soldier but he was never treating nothing less than a boss by everybody in the mob. And there's evidence that he helped Vito Genovese to be put in prison. That's why Carmine galante blew up his tomb when he got out of jail because he was sent to jail with vito Genovese. In Frank's retirement Carlo Gambino and the rest of the mob would visiting him and seek his advice. Vito Genovese did Frank a favor.

Costello wasn't called the Prime Minister for nothing. Savy, smart, logical and temper controlled. He was one of the very few that didn't think murder was the only answer. Everything he did was well thought out. Very Methotical in his every move. He was not like the majority of the hot headed, illogical idiots that either ended up Dead or in Prison. He was one of the very few that knew how to play the game and play it well. Well respected and still called on for advise till the day he died. On a side note he was also extremely handsome. Unlike the majority of mobsters. It's a woman thing.

Word is that during the Havana meeting, when Vito Genovese and Luciano were in a room together Vito said somethings about Luciano needing to retire which made Luciano lose his temper. Resulted in Luciano attacking Vito and broke 3 of his ribs which made Vito having to stay in Havana for 3 extra days to heal up a bit before returning home. And in the end Costello and Luciano served Vito some Karma and got him in jail where he died later.

Wow!.. that's a cool toe-tapping song starting in the background at 02:33. I love that song. It has such a happy and uplifting melody and rhythm, especially when played in a faster cadence ... I love it. Fats Domino sang a version of that song in his style and he titled it "The Downtown Strutters Ball". Other folks like Benny Goodman and Paul Whiteman and tons of other famous band leaders before him did their versions of it, under a slightly different title and lyric structure, but Fats Domino righteously corrected them in both his title and when he sings that phrase in his version of the song. < 3 Well, back to the rest of the video... ; - )

These videos are great! Well made and always interesting to watch. Here are some interesting ones who to make a video of: -Astrid Lindgren, author of Pippi Longstocking, Ronja the Robber's Daughter, Karlsson-on-the-roof etc. Her works has been translated to 110 languages! She also had a very interesting life. One that I find most interesting: In the 70s (76?) she actually made the government of Sweden collapse, because she wasn't happy with the decisions made. -Tove Jansson the creator of the moomins. She is mainly known for the moomins. However, she was actually fore most an artist. She loved painting. Fun fact, even though Tove Jansson is from Finland, the books was originally written in Swedish. Because she was from a minority in Finland called Swedish-speaking-Finnish. Which means she spoke Swedish as her first language and got her education in Swedish. -Edith Södergran, poet, another Swedish-speaking-Finnish from Finland. If I'm not totally wrong, she actually revolutionized the style of poetry writing. -Selma Lagerlöf, the first female author to win a Noble Prize in literature.

You should do one about the guy who tried to assassinate Costello. The Chin is such an interesting mob figure, and his story is fascinating

It would be nice if there are biographies of Gigante covering more than well-known things. I would be surprised if there is one tho, dude was an extremely enigmatic mob figure. Never saw any documentary that discussed beyond: He got ordered to whacks Costello, he did some time with Genovese, he became Genovese's protege and chauffeur, he didn't went down with the other bosses in the Commission trial. He did his daily bathrobe schizo act too well lol

Why were most of the most notorious gangsters of the prohibition era and mafia figures such as Al Capone, Meyer Lanksy, Bugsy Siegel, Vito Genovese and Frank Costello all clean shaven
@bryandonnelly1619
@bryandonnelly1619 3 жыл бұрын
Speculative guess, but the old guard/traditional Sicilian or Italian bosses were regarded or referred to as ‘moustache Petes’. The clean shaven look was probably a conscious choice to avoid being compared to the bosses they replaced or killed
