Working on the documentary "Redemption" ( www.imdb.com/ti... ) Korey Rowe interviews Frank Lucas. From the man who inspired "American Gangster" Frank Lucas looks back on his life while sharing how he became the most notorious gangster and leading drug Lord of the 20th century. After smuggling thousands of Kilos of pure number 4 heroin into the US from Vietnam during one of the worst wars in US history Frank's drug racket is provably the largest game changer on record to date. Redemption will not only showcase the rise and fall of Frank Lucas's empire but will also show the progression of heroin sales in the US and how it has evolved since the 1970s and still plagues the streets of America today and effects the lives of all of its users.

When the interview started Mr. Lucas made it very clear he didn't want his location disclosed, but the last seconds of the video for some reason the camera is zoomed out to expose the location of where Mr. Lucas was staying. It took me 10 mins of googling to know exactly the location, smh. If you're going to interview people you should respect them and their wishes. Like how he asked you to edit out the part where he's talking to the children but you didn't. Very disrespectful.

Upon Ikes release from Jail in 2007 (same as movie release date) he was angry about there being no credit and the film making it look like it was all frank. He even called richie Roberts and told him he wanted to kill Frank but at this point the dude was like 80 years old.

RIP to a so called Big Time Criminal, but through His Life and the Investigation, it showed US, (WE THE PEOPLE), who the real Criminals were the entire time. The NYPD was Taxing street Gangsters before Frank Lucas and are still doing it to this very day. The same way Frank and all his associates were Indicted as Rico Criminals, it lead to a RICO indictment of dirty law enforcement officers, and the ones PAID TO PROTECT AND SERVE the PEOPLE (US).. So the question is, who is really hard the BAD PEOPLE ?? The small time Hood Thug trying to survive in a Discriminating World and make it to the Big Time Millionaire World (Where the Money brings RESPECT and a sense of NON DISCRIMINATION AMERICA) or the so called good guys, (JOHNNY LAW), who BREAKS ALL THEIR OWN RULES, POLICIES, PROCEDURES, TREATIES WITH THE REAL NATIVE AMERICANS, STOLE ALL THIS LAND called the United States and their Territories AKA the U.S.A. (from Mexico, France, Great Britian, and the Natives) and to this very day VIOLATES ALL OUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS, as American Citizens ???? As Dr. King said in his last speech "I've Been to The Mountaintop", AMERICA BE TRUE TO YOURSELF, All we say to America is, “Be true to what you said on paper.” If I lived in China or even Russia, or any totalitarian country, maybe I could understand some of these illegal injunctions. Maybe I could understand the denial of certain basic First Amendment privileges, because they hadn’t committed themselves to that over there. But somewhere I read of the freedom of assembly. Somewhere I read of the freedom of speech. Somewhere I read of the freedom of press. Somewhere I read that the greatness of America is the right to protest for right. WE THE PEOPLE....

Frank Lucas comes across as a sympathetic character, he seems genuine and down-to-earth and he boasts that he helped get kids in college and paid people’s rent and gave out Thanksgiving turkeys but he also destroyed families through his drugs and murdered people when it suited his purposes. He became a poor role model for all the impressionable kids of color that were growing up in Harlem at that time and God only knows how many kids went on to become drug dealers because they wanted to imitate his lifestyle of fancy cars, women and pockets full of money. It’s incredible that he survived the drug game but make no mistake this man hurt a lot of people and those watching this video should never forget that

No accountability for the Grown Men who killed his family when he was 6 years old, the time period was terrible we get it, but stop trying to talk reckless about a man who payed for his Sins and became a better thinking Man. With this he's no Hero, he is a Hero lived to tell us exactly what lifestyle not to partake in and Lived to tell about it. No he wouldnt. The reason he was successful was because he went to the source of heroin, took a chance, then took over the trade, undercutting the Italian monopoly and cutting out the corrupt police, who used to take the drugs, cut them, sell them back to the dealers. He was able to guarantee the quality of the product, being better than anything anybody supplied, even the Italian wholesalers would have no stronger than 50% He wouldn't have been able to do that with any other business, other than Cocaine, but that'd be whole different kettle of fish.

If there were no law enforcement, such as it is, Frank would be doing what the hell he wanted to do.. Think about it. God's law enforcement agencies are not a joke. The law of God is all powerful. He is witness, He is the jury and He is the Supreme Court of human form of life laws. Animals don't have courts, or lawyers. If a human with brain substance acts like an animal, they are actually no better than an animal. Jesus...man wanted Michael Jackson convicted of something God knew he would never do. I love his story and I feel Hollywood was drawn to him more so over Mr. untouchable because of his resilence, his ability to sustain himself without succombing to using alcohol and dope to depress what could have been hopelessness, for tenure. This man is a survivor. He knew how to pull himself up over and over again, still.abiding by a code of ethics unique to himself. That's a smart man in his own right. That's a success story no matter how you cut it. He reminds me of Quincy Jones in the way he speaks with such strong convictions. ME _ You got that backwards. He wasn't my right hand man; I was his right hand man. That's Respect FL. _LilGirl, gone in the house. _ I'm impressed at myself for making such analogy of FL before him actually verbalizing his ability to hold/fold or set it off. You're insane. This guy tore his community apart, selling drugs to his black brothers and sisters using their addictions to keep his penthouses. He ruined countless lives and families. When he was a kid, he was caught having an affair with his employers daughter so he smashed the employer's head with a pipe and set the business on fire. The only reason he snitched on other crime lords, thugs and cops was to lessen his sentence.

Fascinating how Frank controls the interview and hassles the interviewer (14:47) cuz the interviewer is disconnected and in my opinion, doesn't understand the streets. THEN at the end, Frank himself is fascinated that the interviewer was a soldier in Afghanistan. Very cool how things shift around cuz Frank asked for more interview time at the end. It's for a film...it's not an "interview" these are just questions to cut into a film they had been working on. They didn't need the whole story just what went along with the film. The interviewers voice will be cut out and they will cut to little snippets of Frank giving his account. It's how docs are done.
