The greatest guitar player in history, Legend Frank Marino
@fredandpattychandler41309 жыл бұрын
I've been listening to Frank Marino, since 1976. His simple approach to Prog music. Helped make his styles, of guitar playing, highly accessible to me. His vocalizations, and seamless guitar work. Intrigued me as a teenager, growing up in Vermont. Frank just up the road in Montreal, Canada. We're about the same age. So I identified with him personally, as well. His songwriting, is my favorite part of his great overall talent. A beautiful catalog of music to boot. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. For the decades of honest to goodness, Rock and Roll. You are in my personal Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Hope your arm is feeling better, my friend. Peace.

Frank, The Torpedo’s cool. But that blues recording that you played absolutely kicks ass! You still got it, you’ll never lose it, and I have to say, It’s even better than ever. Please, come to Los Angeles to play your music. I hope that you see this comment. Longtime fan, Arnold Martinez.

I was a Marine from 1976 to 1980. I first heard Frank's live album cover of Johnny B Good, went and saw him at Cal Jam 2. I picked up the guitar and "learned" by trying to copy him. Lord bless you Frank, make a dream come true, I'd love to sit with you and have a meal and get some insights

What's so cool about Frank is that he didn't burnout like so many of his era. He's probably mellowed out a bit, like we all have, but he's still the same dude. Also, Frank's a really smart guy, not just low brow who bashes a guitar. Keep on rocking FM.

Hi Frank,thank you for posting this video.I have also been testing speaker cab VST plugins recently and have been impressed with Torpedo.However,if you haven't tried Nebula I would recommend you give it a try.Unlike Torpedo or Recabinet(also quite good) it doesn't use Impulse Responces(which are static) it uses VVKT ,Vectorial Volterra Kernel TechnologyThis allows it to create non-linear aspects of the output tube-speaker interaction like impedance curves,harmonics,and saturation.This makes it more dynamically responsive to pick attack,pinch/natural harmonics,palm muting,etc.As for IR loaders,Guitar Rig 5 now uses Redwirez IRs and Peavy Revalver and Overloud TH2 both allow you to load external IRs as well.

i love the part where he says "i've tried...........well, alot, not everyone of them thats come out" the guy cant just say "i tried them all' like anybody eles would say. the guy cant bring himself to tell the whitest lie. and people wonder how such a supreamly talented guy could not make it big in the music idustry, he NEVER HAD THE SLIGHTEST CHANCE OF MAKING IT BIG, no one this honest does. but then again, no one less than this honest has a chance of being this kind of artist

Frank, what all pedals do you use? Are you going to tour any time soon, what about in St. Louis? I only got to see you once in St. Louis. The other bands were a joke, (dont want to hurt any feelings, no names) but the only reason I went was to see FRANK!!

Hmm . . it does sound great! I'm amazed at the simulation amps and effects anymore. I use a digitech and love it. At one time . . nothing but a tube amp would do and even at that very hard to get my sound.
@AmesburyGuy9 жыл бұрын
Hi Frank ,can you do a run down of effects you used on the live 79 all along the watchtower video or any hints I'm using the axe fx 2 amp modeler I have the univibe on but it seems more is going on. If its not asking to much can you crank your old amp tone so I can tone match it?

How the hell is this even possible? This means the impulses used are from a sound exactly the same as the "real" one. Mic position, knob settings, distortion, everything is literally exactly the same, down to the millimeter to produce two sounds that are virtually impossible to distinguish. The impulses must have been recorded minutes before this video was made.
@stephenjimmilee645212 жыл бұрын
Hey Frank you don't need effects one of your best solos was on Buddy which you made when you were 17 and there were no effects then, just a Big Muff fuzz box I think!

This gave me a crazy idea, take the output of an accelerometer on a live speaker to drive the dynamic load simulation. I told you it was a pretty crazy idea.
