The first time I listened to Siegfried I was on the subway in Chicago. I had just moved there. I was staring out the window at the city skyline and the sparks from the metal wheels flickered on all the brick buildings. The lyric "I've been living in an idea from another man's mind" always gives me chills. That song transported me to another world. I love how powerful this album is.

This video just took me back to the most magical memory, it's like I'm reliving it. About a year ago, when I was 16, I was going through one of those weird parts in youth where you just feel lost, but looking back it's as if every day had incredible significance. It's weird. But I had discovered Frank recently and was absolutely addicted to blonde. It was summer, and I was looking at cinemaclock trying to find a movie me and my best friend could see for a night I had off work. We had been watching some of the classic studio Ghiblis recently, and I was shocked to see Akira playing at a theatre in downtown, at 11 or 12 at night. I was hyped, and my friend was in. However, the night of the movie, he cancelled on me for whatever reason. I was disappointed, but on a whim I decided to still go. I convince my parents to let me go despite the pouring rain, and I drive there. It's a really weird new indie theatre, and there's pretty few people there. Anyway the movie was a blur but I remember watching it and coming out almost in a daze, back into the rain very late at night. I took a very long way home under the city lights, and I listened to blonde and another album, then layed awake in bed for most of the rest of the night thinking existential thoughts, trying to figure the point of Akira out. I don't know why this felt so significant, but I just felt the weight of the world and the joy of life and the blessing of youth and idk, I felt like I had experienced something special. Everything was so perfect it was like cliche. Thinking back it's something more than nostalgia, I can't say what it is but this video perfectly captures it and brings the memory back to me. Thankyou

It’s been 6 years since this album was released. I’ve listened to this a countless amount, with each listen slightly altered from the last. When this masterpiece was originally released, I used to listen to it as a 17 year old, often in tears, to direct my thoughts through a hard breakup, to clear my mind, to take me away from the noise of life around me. The whole experience I get when listening to the album has slowly morphed from a place of seclusion a depression through to a place of contemplation and, now I’m in a great place in life, it’s an opportunity for reflection and appreciation of just how much has changed since I was that struggling 17 year old. I think the subjectivity of the whole album is what so many people resonate with, it has turned into a soundtrack for a chapter in so many peoples lives because Frank has created this experience that has just enough vagueness and mystery for you to fill the gaps with your own experiences, and I think that’s why when I listen to the album now, it’s such a contrasting experience for me from when I first listened to it as an adolescent.

Crazy how we feel exactly the same about this masterpiece. I really used to watch this video almost every day in 2017, it feels good to dwell in the nostalgia. I went through extremely tough times aswell back then but somehow they dont seem so bad looking bad, i catch myself romanticizing those times of loss and heartbreak every now n then even though im in a much better place now... weird right? I think its cause i wouldnt be the person who i am today without those experiences so im kind of proud of it. I hope youre doing better aswell, much love from someone whos probably just like you.

I felt the same when I started listening to close to you in blonde. My aunt used to sing the original song to me before she started acting indifferent due to family issues. This video encapsulates that memory so well. Takes me back to a simpler time... before I had any experience with all the things teenage life brings with it. Sometimes I think blond was a warning to my younger self, Frank was trying to caution me. I can no longer listen to blond casually, it's a once a month experience. I brew tea, sit at the end of my bed, and listen to it start to finish. Anim Jock Hes allowed to like nights. It doesnt mean he isnt a “real fan”. We are all here for the same reason and thats the art. Lets focus on that. Nights is great and very vulnerable/honest song. I just think seigfired is more so.

Just discovered this July 23rd, 2020. I already know I'm going to come back here a lot. This album has always been a safe haven for me. Driving with friends and want to enjoy the nice weather? Pink+White. A date went well and catching feelings for a girl? Ivy. Not doing too hot and need to be in my bag? White Ferrari. Existential crisis? Nights. No matter what I need, the album finds a way of supplying it when I need it most. I don't listen to it often but when I do, I try and appreciate it. Albums like this don't get made every day or decade. Something special that speaks to you and makes you feel a connection with it like nothing else. Not all music can do that and it's important to appreciate the artists who make that happen. Thank you Frank, and thank you to the two who combined these with amazing Gibalhi movies, it truly is a work of art.

This album means so much to me. I was sophomore in high school when I first listened, and that year also led me to try many new things, and it was, quite honestly a transitional period of my life. Blonde amplified this feeling intensely, I felt like as a person I changed and I felt different than ever before. Probably just teenager hormones, but still

@BenjerminGaye8 жыл бұрын
creamycazz1 Akira is the one with the neo Tokyo setting. Laputa: Castle in the Sky is the one with the boy and girl in the kite/glider. Spirited Away is the one with the Dragon, and the Bathhouse. All 3 are considered to be amongst the best animated films to come out of the East, on par with Disney's best with the west ( Lion king, Sleeping beauty etc)

i clicked this video thinking it would be some sort of a megamix/mashup, when seigfried started playing my heart broke. almost a year ago, i was sitting in front of my first love, on his bed, with one earpod in my right ear, while this was playing. i already knew what was coming but i didn't know how he was gonna put it into words, until i heard... "i don't think we were meant for each other..." almost two years and a routine with a loved one down the drain, just to become the worst situation i had been put into. for months i hadn't the courage to listen to this song, i would automatically go into autopilot and freeze. i wouldn't speak to anybody, i would get anxious, i would shutdown. 6 months later i heard it again and let out everything that i had kept to myself. i just looked out into the sunset and cried unemotionally. the first time i had heard this song and its first chords, i knew it was a song that would mark me forever in terms of my sadness and depression, i just didn't know how or why or when... i didn't even know something was gonna happen... ever since then, when i listen to this song i go back and i think, i think and i learn, i analyse and i always cry... it always makes me cry. how someone i loved so dearly ended up hurting me so badly and betraying me. i can't seem to imagine myself loving anyone as much as i did, giving myself away to someone as much as i did. i lost so much of me for him and now i have him stuck on me, i can't let him go. i can't seem to know what a life will be, loving someone without beng scared of getting hurt or scared of losing myself, once again.

since everybody chill in the comments imma share my story as well , I discovered frank in the summer of 2019 . I wish it was earlier but I also wish it wasn't. At the time I was going through this almost confusion about life ,love and well pain , if I'm being honest with y'all I still am but when I sit down in my room 2 am deep in the night and play blonde I feel like my life has a meaning and I think it always will , it makes be someone I'm not and someone I wish I was, Frank's unique beat switches almost transecdes me to a better place , I feel like drugs are nothing but this ,this is what drugs revolve around this is what Nirvana feels like this is what life with a purpose feels like. When the 17th track ends I stare at Frank's green dyed hair and feel my fingers moving towards the repeat button.
