Frank S. is one of the best NA speaker tapes out there. One of the things that makes this talk great is that it carries a message of so much HOPE. He relates the "Just For Today" message in a clear and engaging way and reminds all of us that every day clean, is another day that we can mark down in the win column. GREAT TALK! :)

Thank you so much for posting this. Frank was my best friend. We were there for each other from day 1. We walked each other down the aisle when we each got married. His was the shoulder I cried on when I got divorced. He supported my recovery via phone when I moved to South America and later Asia to help start NA meetings overseas. I was there for him when he moved to Arizona. I was living in Asia when he died and it broke my heart not to have been there for him at the end. I was missing him today, so I googled to see if anyone had posted a taped about him and here he was. Thank you for giving me the gift of his recovery once again. Sharing Hugs of gratitude with you!

I remember he did speak at one of the early Greater NY Regional Conventions. I will be going to my storage locker to store stuff July 4th weekend so I will check my Convention programming documents since I was the chair/vice chair & member for many years on that committee. My documents will also tell me who the recording vendor is. I know that vendor is still in business so we will be able to get a copy. Thanks for the nudge! You'll here back from me at that time.

Heaven's Gate Please share more if you can! What happened to him? I don't need specifics, I just want to know if he was able to pass away clean?! I apologize if that is too personal a question, but I have never, ever been so moved by ANY speaker. This man is amazing, and I would love to hear more!

i am a grateful person because of you all, i made thru the teenage years because you all in the rooms; where there for me. it didn't matter that i native, Thailand, and what ever else. Knowing that was the only college student struggling with alcohol and heroin , and eating. i had to learn what was the right type of food to eat instead of empty calories of alcohol being a gymnast, cheer coach, just busy, because i couldn't be still in my spirit because i was afraid of being alone, because i was destructive to myself. Not hurting me like self injury or anything, but drugs and alcohol was my painful behavior. i had to learn, just to follow instructions, in the rooms and my sponsor , and after 9 years i finally became a real person worthy of love.

@@ronmexico79 I have never had a reply to a comment I made 5 years ago! However the notification prompted me to listen to the first 2 mins again, and I am still blown away by the speaker describing how he views the dichotomy of light/dark within himself and also his customary note about anniversaries struck a chord with me too. So for me to be able to connect with another humans experience so quickly without being in the same room or even seeing their face just blows me away. I remember 9yrs ago I was HOLDING on 2 ten mg of Methadone. My Sponsor then said, "What is ten mgs doing 4 u?" I said, "It's keeping my nose from running!" She said something so profound, "Ivis they GOT TOILET TISSUE 4 THAT!" I bust out laughing. Lol My highest dose was 100 mg & my lowest was 10 mg. What HELPED me the most was something my counselor said, "If u want 2 be successful w/ getting off of Methadone LESSEN YOUR STRESS LEVEL."

@@ronmexico79 because when we stop going to meeting our disease of addiction manifests. There is no cure, only a daily reprieve. Meetings help us remember the desperation of what our lives were, and give us strength to keep going forward without drugs or alcohol, along with hope. There's an expression if diabetics don't take their meds for the rest of their lives their disease acts up & can kill them, so for people with the disease of addiction NA (or other recovery groups/fellowships) are our meds, meetings help keep our disease in check so we can live. I hope I was able to give you a little understanding. Have a good day.

My real name is iyan vivian s. , and when i in gymnastics it was mckay, and when i was 3 my name was changed to yvonne p. ; i was in foster care and that is how i have 3 names. my birth day is 10- 1- 2004, and received a birth certificate thru the house of Ruth, to use to start elementary school thru college. my grand mom died in 2008, and i don't know the rest of my family. it was because i kept moving around and different schools, i realized my teachers where like my family and i excelled in the classroom to make them proud of me , i attempt to be better and better at school work, no matter if sick or not. i wanted to prove my teachers, that i was worth the time and effort, and when college ended in 2016, it was like i lost my family, but the woman's meeting became my outlet and the rooms weren't attention, and realized i shiver if i don't have my candy or special soda. i'm doing good. This is my last post (kinda my 3 step work), but i will listen to meeting only in the computer lab at my current daycare. thanks for being here!

Denice Muscat No I haven't yet, it was a listener submission and I reached out to the submitter to no avail. I will send him another email right now though, its been a while. Hopefully it was some problem with the download and he has the full tape. Blessings to you and yours!
