When he asked about the time, he was referring to the length of the song. Only someone of his stature at that time could get a song of 4:12 released as a single. It was rare for songs in the 60's to be anything over three minutes.

Frank was an extremely talented man. He was also generous. I recently saw a video about the actress Lee Remick. While she was filming a Frank Sinatra special in Tennessee she received a phone call that her husband had been in a serious car accident and was clinging to life. Lee & her mother flew to Los Angeles and checked into the Beverly Hills Hotel for a week. When she went to pay the bill she was informed that it had a been paid by Frank Sinatra who she had barely met. Thanks for doing this reaction.

Sinatra's voice got even smoother and astounding as he got older. His voice became much more deeper, clearer, a lot more richer, and so much smoother, and soooooo unique, even his phrasing improved more than any male singer I've heard so far. Not only his voice was fabulous and so unique, but his phrasing was perfect, just perfect. That by itself is a huge talent. There are a lot of good singers out there with very good voices, but Sinatra had it all...the awesome voice, the swagger, the talent, the presence, the confidence, the charisma, and believability. Mr. Sinatra - AKA - the VOICE; AKA - O'l Blue Eyes; AKA - The Chairman Of The Board;…etc., RIP.

Such a wonderful song! That takes me back to being a little kid growing up in the 60s and hearing my mom's records from from Frank, and Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Junior, Perry Como, and some of the other wonderful singers from back then! Just a beautiful peacefulness of the song, Thank you so much for sharing it!

Here’s a little bit of trivia about this masterpiece of a song - the “blue-blooded girl of independent means, we’d ride in limousines her chauffeur would drive” refers to the romance Frank had with Gloria Vandrbilt in the 1950s.

In popular song this has to be a "document" of some importance. Wonderful to see Sinatra and his arranger/ conductor Gordon Jenkins (nickname "Lefty"!) working towards such a magnificent outcome.

Because of my decades in choir I was watching the band conductor. He wasn't very good. He probably excels at writing arrangements but you never sway your arms side to side. He could use with some lessons. It is also wise to have your singer sitting while recording. Singers usually don't rehearse all that much before recording. Breathing is written into the sheet music. Then, after you master coordinating with the band and standing while singing, you perform in front of an audience. Unless you're Floor Jansen, who was a voice coach before she became a famous singer.

@@KristinKali Sorry, it was a conditioned response. It's like when a computer tech watches a computer hacking scene in a movie and realizes that the script writer did little to no research. About Frank sitting, twenty years ago I had this truly outstanding choir director. Judy wasn't just an awesome singer, I learned a lot from her about recording, rehearsing, breathing and control. Yeah, Ol Blue Eyes, like the rest of the rat pack, incredible singers, dancers and actors-they fill me with awe.
