Best pizza in NYC in my opinion, light crisp and I love the charred aspect from the coal oven

I can't wait to visit Patsy's in my old neighborhood of East Harlem Sept 11, 2024, for my son to experience.

this was by pizzaria i hit on my way uptown going back into the Bronx...at that time the sink to shuck the claims was still by the open window facing the sidewalk from inside the store....on the top of the stove off to the side sat a flat can of Anchovies and a second can filled with crushed garlic in olive oil....the heat from the oven kept the oil warm...if you were keen to the cans up there you could ask to add the oil to your slice for an extra kick of flavor...and a grape soda from the machine....when i was going in the mid 80's a slice was a $1.25

I remember Patsy's restaurant I never ate there because I was a young girl back then , but I use to go next door and buy there pizza 🍕 so delicious , this was back in the late 70's I even remembered walking to the store one night and Patsy's restaurant has the side walk blocked off, so I was just standing there with other people I really didn't know what was going on , until I asked someone standing next to me , they told me the Frank Sinatra what's getting ready to get out of his limousine and I saw him for the first time , I also remember there was a bar across the street in front of Patsy's restaurant and there was a lady name Ruth she ran that bar I remember she had red hair , because my mom use to go in there to drink a beer sometimes, and I also remember right next door to Ruth bar there was a a Italian kinda ice cream place there but it really wasn't ice cream but it was so good they were husband and wife that own that place i don't remember there name's i remember my favorite was the coconut they would put. It in these small paper cups ,those were the good times 70's

Another remarkable thing about Patsy's is they sell by the slice, unlike most high class pizzerias. They are truly a part of the neighborhood. I remember when in the early 90s you could go across the street and get traditional Italian ices as desert after your slice. In 2021 the price was about 2, 2 and a quarter. Most places today charge at least 50 cents ABOVE the current $2.75 subway fare, thereby de-coupling a traditional indicator of inflation.

Yea but dont forget that the slice is paper thin and it falls right hands.

That Pizza Chef got it so right when he said it cooks fast and no drying out. That;s why great juicy thin base pizza in a restaurant is the best. I love seafood pizza that's the best as far as i'm concerned. Stevie in Scotland.

This is wrong. Mr. Sinatra loved Patsy's Restaurant in Manhattan...not this Patsy's in Harlem.

I tried Patsy's Pizza in Harlem. It was some of the absolute worst pizza I've ever had in my life. Under-cooked floppy paper thin garbage. Go to John's or if you can get to New Haven Ct. go to Sally's or Pepe's. There's a Pepe's in Yonkers as well.

@@antoniogutierrezjr7471truth. It’s getting worse and worse. Pizza places would rather hire Mexicans than get Italians who live and breathe it. To these guys it’s just a paycheck. It’s not a passion.
