Met Frank at the start of his career when he actually had a band and he was just as nice as could fucking be and he asked me for my address and said when there album came out he would sign and send one a month later in the mail came the album and signed with a nice letter and to this day it hangs under glass and I once showed Sylvester Stallone the picture of it and he said "Thats My Brother". That days it all. Frank is a class act that was so under rated but not in my mind.

Wow, amazing! His voice & this song make me think of Eye Of The Tiger! Frank wrote this song for the Stayin' Alive movie. Eight other songs in the movie were written by him, for the movie, & performed by him. Plus two instrumentals. Eleven songs total for that movie. He should've gotten more credit for his amazing talent as a songwriter (over 200 songs!), musician, singer & performer!

@johndough2472 жыл бұрын
@@daffpranco2513 strongly you say? heheh it's most definitely playback. It sounds identical to the record; not a variation to be found. Other clues: 1) Drums have no mics (that's usually the telltale sign) 2) Horns using invisibility serum...same for the female background singers 3) One pianist couldn't play the piano and all those synth parts by himself 4) Frank is waving that mic everywhere, yet his volume is consistent...no mic and compressor is that good 5) AB, Soul Train and many of the popular music shows from back then did playback only. Less fuss and the average person wouldn't notice.
@FORTASIVOINTA Жыл бұрын

I am a composer myself, and I was 12 when that song was released. It is a very keen song, paying homage to elements used in classical music, even though this is a high-energy dance-rock number. You hear the Neopolitan chord, the Db flat chord, permeating in that C minor key center in that song several times. The repeated Gs in the keyboards reminds me of 1960s rock and roll when bands at that decade loved the power of straight eighths. The outro with that spectacular use of soaring circle of fourths on notes C-F-Bb-Eb-Ab-Db-Gb-Cb sounds way out of this world, and gives that song its final, at-your-face hook. I wonder if that song was the "Song of the Year" at the Grammy Awards in 1983....? IT SHOULD BE!!!!
