James Birdlegs Youman is the rhythm guitarist on this. The riff/chord-sequence is something Frank cooked up in 1971 on the disaster tour - there's a bit of it during the improvs at the London gig. (See other thread re what happened next in the evolution of Sleep Dirt)

@@alldayadventures5418 No acoustic on Shut Up, although Frank did play a Bouzouki on one track. Frank is only known to have owned one acoustic guitar, a Martin D-18S and to have only used it on two songs, Sleep Dirt and Blessed relief.

That's a fan nickname rather than a confirmed title. Your wording is confusing: the chord progressions of Black Napkins and this one are totally different, but if you mean that the alternative Sleep Dirt - the one which they played live, with the "sibling of Black Napkins" melody added to it - is something Rory ought to listen to, I agree. And if he's reading this - the best-sounding version is included in the longer version of the Vancouver '75 concert.

@@davehagi9883 But probably a lot fewer holy grails than we once thought. We've already had word that tons of live recordings which are sought-after ROIOs have no "official" counterpart in the vault, and we also know that none of the History Box material survives in any of its original forms (it was all split up/cut and pasted/occasionally erased, during the making of Lost Eps, M-Disc, YCDTOSA et al).
