Yeah, Democrats were insanely way too fast to pull the trigger on this guy. I will never forget or forgive what Kirsten Gillibrand did in her own pursuit for power and fame. Franken should be in the Senate right now, if not president. He could have totally won in 2020, possibly even 2016, if he had never been kicked out of the Senate.

@Mr. Shlock You dragged race into it when you equated Puerto Ricans to taking up 50% of our country's food stamps, which is simply inaccurate. Sorry, I was dumbing myself down to the race baiting talking point you just spewed out about a few comments ago..one that's both inaccurate and also specifically perpetuated by right wing media to make you believe that immigrants or people who aren't white are ruining the economy when in fact they contribute to the fastest growing portion of new small businesses and economic upward trajectory. Try getting your information from reputable sources instead of Facebook ads next time. Unlike you, I read the Wall Street Journal, NYT, the Post, and Fox (the journalism part, not the opinion shows).

Well, first of all, by taking a job as a Senator, he's potentially making a lot less than he could in show business, and if one were inclined to give him the benefit of a doubt, one could argue that he doesn't dislike this country at all -- that, in fact, he loves it, and joined the Senate to help improve it. Not that I'm making excuses for his voting record or failure to do more than he has. And the last time I was at Mickey Ds, I got a More Than Happy Meal.

So I did some searching and I was surprised to learn that there were 271 episodes (9 seasons) of Perry Mason! Wow, Game of Thrones is made by slackers. Anyway, there were actually 4 cases Perry lost. Here is the excerpt from Wikipedia with the names: "The Case of the Terrified Typist" (episode 1-38), "The Case of the Witless Witness" (episode 6-28) and the much-hyped "The Case of the Deadly Verdict" (episode 7-4)[k] are episodes in which Perry Mason loses cases in some form or manner.[30] He has implicitly lost a capital case in "The Case of the Desperate Daughter" (episode 1-27)

Loss was overturned in case of deadly verdict. Terrified typist had an imposter. Not on Mason's record. We are all human beings. You, apparently, think anyone who doesn't have the same belief system as you, are somehow the enemy. The enemy isn't Blue or Red. The enemy is in our hearts. The enemy is hate. We weren't put on this planet to hate and be evil. We were put on this planet to take care of each other and love each other. I am guessing this message will fall on deaf ears and blind eyes.

According to The Perry Mason TV Show Book, the unbeatable defense attorney actually did lose three cases (that we know about) during his career. In Mason loses a non-murder case, a “matter of civil law,” the site notes. In Mason’s client is found guilty of murder, but he eventually manages to clear her name anyway. Last but not least in Perry’s client is found guilty of murder and is sentenced to death in the gas chamber.

Thing about Franken being a former comedian is he's been a pretty boring senator. Even his campaign was a run of the mill, dull affair. (It helped that his opponent, Senator Norm Coleman, was a weak candidate). Even his TV appearances on late night TV during the campaign were super dull. Thing is, I think his dullness is on purpose. He's keeping his "SNL" side in check, keeping his powder dry so when Republicans come after him, his quick wits will have more impact.
