Watch some of the confirmation hearings and you'll see he at least has a basic grasp of what the appointment means. In the DeVos hearing he asked a question that has been an ongoing debate in educational circles, and DeVos had no idea what he was asking about. I will take a competent person who does their research and homework over a genius who refuses to learn anything new.
