I still have his autograph. He was at the old Brevort Theater in Brooklyn and nodded as he signed my piece of paper. So sad that life took him down that road. He was an innnovator and one of a kind talent. So many came behind him adding to and emprovising on his style and stage presense. RIP Frankie, you are loved and remembered each time we hear your music.

Before The Chantels, Ronnettes, Imperials, Harptones, The Diamonds, The Beatles, Temptations, Surpremes, even Frankie's brother group The Teencords, and of course The Jackson 5, The Silvers even ecos them and New Edition, Musical Youth, Five Star even somehow The Jets also,The Boyz, Another Bad Creation that one hit wonder group Four in One sorry they never stuck around and there's Criss Cross to a degree, TLC, Salt & Pepper, Jodeci, New Kids on the Block, Take 6 and Insyc there was Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers. These are just some of the groups that come to my mind that were born from Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers there are so many others that brought that kid like sound to music or there music applied to young people but I can't remember all of them. If Frankie and some of the other Teenagers that have died was alive today they would have been absolutely proud to see the galaxy of both black and white groups that they have influenced through the decades even the forgotten Latin pop group in the 80's Monudo shadows Frankie and the Teenagers only zen masters of a musical group have that kind of influence on a global scale. Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers were it in the fifties!

I Really Believe That If Drugs Had Not Destroyed Frankie Lymon Life,He Would Have Been Up There With Michael Jackson. He Was Phenomenal And Had Great Potential In The 1950’s.

Appreciate you reading my comment on Frankie and I do, in part, agree with your feedback. In describing Frankie Lymon as an innovator I was talking about his over all style and stage presence. After him came many youthful singing groups but he was a first. Even When you look at little Michael with the Jackson Five you can see a glimpse of Frankie Lymon. As for Lewis, I always admired him but he never had the charisma or was able to capture his audience as a young Frankie did.

They used him up just like the industry does the others...noonee had his back..he sold his soul...he wi. Drugs .due to how they pimped him but..the industry is a nasty business. Back then it was alot more difficult because of racism. So i can only imagined what he had to do to get t little bit of fame...rdeem it just to be tossed away like nothing. He couldn't live with hiself after the things he done to get his records played and to be signed to them lables.
