Lovely enamel stove. The hot plate is a massive bonus. With a dense cast pot, you will be able to roast, bake, as well as stew and boil. Will save you considerably on gas and preserve your batteries. Nothing quite like wood fuel fire.

You have really come a long way over the last year. The wood stove will be a great help for the winter. It's also great to have Iwan's Mom visiting. The doggies and kitties are too adorable. Nick mentioned in one of his videos that he wished he could find a plaster that he used in the UK to skim the walls and ceilings. You should sneakily ask him what type it was and maybe when one of the family comes they could bring a bit for him. The cost may be a consideration. Just an idea.🙂👍🇨🇦❤

Get a Carbon Monoxide alarm and maybe consider a spark arrestor on the top of the chimney, to prevent wildfires, instead of just a rain cap. You will probably find the cement around the chimney will crack due to heat, fire cement would be better if you havn't used it already
@djazt.80532 жыл бұрын
You probably mean a CO (carbon monoxide) alarm? These are far more usual for supervising combustion. If sth goes wrong, both CO and CO2 would go into the room, and the CO part is by far more dangerous. And before adding the CO alarm, I think a smoke detector would be the priority. But both are cheap, so just get both.

🙏 such a great episode! About "marmelos", the other day Lea from Our Portuguese Homestead on KZbin was showing a kind of stew made with quince as a legume, I believe it was a Moroccan dish (but I can be mistaken) and come to think of it, it makes perfect sense, quince seems to have the right texture and flavor profile!

Hi I don't know if you know about quinces . You can dice them in rough chunks and stew them in honey. They are lovely and soft as stewed fruit. You can have them on your cereal in the morning. They taste like pears but a bit more with a floral twist. Nice as a dessert.
