I actually have a theory on year perception. When you are 5, one year is 1/5 of your entire life. If you're 40, it's only 1/40th of your life. So it makes sense that a 5 year old will feel like a year is an extremely long time, while a 40 year old feels like the years are going by quickly.

A good way to understand time perception is to think of time as a pecentage of time lived. So 1 yo, 1 year is 100% of your time. At 10 years, it's 10% of your life so it seems like 1 year passes 10x faster. At 100 years, it's 1% of your life so time passes 100x faster. So yes, by this measure, time is accelerating. You have the same issue if you measure time based on your expected death date. The best way to have time not pass quickly is to stop going into nostalgia or looking at how much life you have ahead of you. Accept the past and don't dwell there. Make plans for the future then don't spend too much time dwelling on it. Do what you need to do today, If you can do all three, time doesn't seem to accelerate. It's just what happens as you're living.

I have CPTSD and am an INFJ. I’d probably have the customer service representative contemplating his life choice and the sweet release of death. On a more upbeat note, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve wanted to scream “NEGATIVE 10,000” in a post call survey. The only exception was a guy named Muhammad from Pakistan who spoke perfect English and went above and beyond what I expected in record time. To this day, I still think of him as the son I never had. So in the video, flip the view around, you’re the CS rep being asked questions that have no answers or are extremely disturbing. You’d have a list of meaningless responses to give, too.

I know who you are, and I know who I am. Just follow your lead because, in the end, you will never know where it all takes you, right?
@markwright31614 күн бұрын
That doesn't work for me because I grew up with 'Harry hill's TV Burp'. Basically every time I hear or read 'there's only one way to find out' my brain screams 'FIGHT!' :) They had a thing they entered ad breaks with. They'd have 2 options for something, (searching KZbin, the top result is 'naughtiest vegetarians - Heather Mills vs Hitler', although they also did other random stuff too, like food stuff, etc), and the presenter would shout 'who is better? There's only one way to find out. FIGHT!' Then a person dressed as the first option would come in from one side of the studio, and someone dressed as the other would come in from the other side of the studio, and they'd fight in the middle of the floor as the tv faded to ads as the host leaned over a desk cheering them on. You could have a slice of pizza fighting a doughnut (full sized human costumes), that sort of thing. There might be a few more clips on KZbin if you can find them (depending on where in the world you are). It was a weird part of a Saturday evening tv programme that was basically the presenter commentating tv show -bloopers- clips out of context with some in studio shots and sketches played as alternate continuations of those clips. Edit; Misrecalled. not bloopers, just making jokes by taking clips from the actual shows out of context.
