What is it 2010? People still being enamored by Franklins and making videos is like making a video of a Tesla. 15 years ago, before brick and mortar, they were a destination. Now it's basically a tourist trap for the uninformed.

Maybe show respect for the man that made Barbecue mainstream.

Ha. You sound bitter that he still has people who WANT to stand in his line. If it wasn’t good people wouldn’t go. 🤷🏻♂️

@143sc I've had it for him. Take the camera off. he's an arrogant and egotistical jerk. There are very, very few people in the industry who can tolerate him. Do yourself a favor and go to actual good bbq spots that aren't a tourist trap. Plenty of pitmasters who don't try and take credit where it isn't due or try and lie about methods.

@xrayguy1981 just because people want to stand in line doesn't mean it's good or that they'd do it again. It's like owning a BMW or going to see the Mona Lisa....not really worth a return visit or purchase. Again, when it was a trailer and he cared vs pumping out mass quantities because he was popular, the food was better. There's a reason he only got a Bib Gourmand....there's nothing special about it and he's lost a lot of the soul he had in it. Basically it's like Benihana now or Ruth's Chris. Sure its special if you haven't had it. Once you have nobody goes back unless you're taking someone visiting.

@143sc why? That's like having respect for folks who make soap operas because they made them mainstream TV. And if you think Aaron Franklin did that, you're the problem. His over glorified ego that he and folks have for him is over the top. Saying he made bbq mainstream when folks have been waiting in line for bbq all over the country for decades prior to him is what doesn't show respect. Like saying Shohei Ohtani made baseball mainstream in America or Asia and giving zero respect for all that came prior.
