This episode is an example of what might be called, "the build up to dissapointment," and Don Quinn typically wrote two or three of these each season. These shows begin with the promise of Fibber getting money or something really valuable, and ends with Fibber finding out that his dreams of wealth have been dashed. This became a plot device for television comedy shows, too
